Hope Catcat comes down for you today! Roo had a tiny pink this morning too, looks like these two like to play together!
 
they sure do -- I'm so glad Catcat has a friendly playmate -- I'm in the process of donating my leftover Vetsulin to a local rescue group; I contacted DCIN first but they didn't know of anyone in our area who needed it, and I'm not really in a position to ship it off, luckily one of the contacts lives less than 10 miles away and can make sure it gets where it's going, safely
 
waiting anxiously to hear the results of Roo's tests -- wish he could tune into Catcat's sanguine personality at the vet == of course Dr Bauman is exceptional, she loves cats, particularly seniors and diabetics, she's learning from us too, and their clinic is calm, quiet, with no residual smells, everyone is warm and friendly

gosh I love Roo's vet, the main Dr and the techs are so so sweet. I wish I knew why he freaks out so much :(
 
NOT the results I wanted -- not sure why either, maybe Catcat DOES need an increase to get him back to blues-and-occasional-greens

let's see what happens about +8 today -- filling in the blanks I didn't have the last few days, also wondering if the Lantus vial is losing its punch, has been being used since last part of January (with a break between March and early July), so we're getting close to the 6 month time frame that I've read is about its usable lifespan ...

I do have a pen which may or may not have been used yet, and one that I know has never been opened (got that one first) -- and there's a local source for one vial that's never been used either, from a hooman who switched to insulin pump -- it's half the cost of a retail pen here
 
it does look like increase is needed to me too.
You'll know if the later in the cycle tests turn the same or higher.
I would take the +9 followed by small LC or pure protein snack like chicken.
And if after that the PS is the same or higher than it might the right time to increase back to 0.75U.
I opened fresh pen 4 c ago and I think it did add some muscle to the same dose.

+9 - 279 .. basically the same reading all day

I'm going to shoot the .5 tonight because no way can I stay up, or wake up repeatedly, to monitor him all night -- yes I know it's not Vetsulin and there won't be an instant reaction, but still ....

try the .75 tomorrow morning to see if we get blues, or run into NDW .. shooting the current vial .. if that doesn't show much change I may get one of the pens out, I don't know if Mialia was using pen as well as the vial, hard to gauge the usage on a pen, vs the vial which is self explanatory
 
Catcat doesn't like the hot weather any more than I do, we both spend much of the day lying down -- me with a book, Catcat with whatever he thinks about during REM sleep -- we go out in the morning before it heats up, and Catcat has his usual dawn and twilight roams ..

this morning I laid out all the sod we collected yesterday, covered maybe 1/5 of the rock-and-dirt area, watered it in well -- got some grass seed today, and may look out the flower seeds I have in the basement, left over from previous years, mark the area off so DS doesn't mow it, and see if we can grow flowers and grass -- most of the yard is dry and scorched, except for the few wild lupines that volunteered -- basically our whole yard is whatever volunteered to grow, including moss -- which more resembles peat moss at the moment

PMPS 286 -- I could have saved those test strips, basically same value all day -- and it wasn't a fur shot either
fed him only home stewed chicken thigh at +9 ---
taking extra precautions loading syringe tonight -- I've been getting bubbles as I drew the insulin, a real pain to get rid of them
 
nope, it wasn't worn-out insulin, must have been something else -- not gremlins, not trolls, not leprechauns, maybe it was Loki, the spirit of mischief ?

tomorrow is another day -- garbage day for us -- I have LOTS of aluminum-bottom catfood cans to recycle

with luck I'll have enough energy to go grab a few more chunks of sod from our neighbor's pile of the no longer needed lawn they dug up to build their house and put in their drainfield -- appropriate, wouldn't you say? -- gotta find the rake to push the small stones back into that area, so when DS mows, he doesn't throw rocks ... I bought some bright yellow stakes to delineate the area, may put some of my solar lights out there too, take the cuss off an irregular patch of denuded earth
