It's a big day today...Trix's OTJ party is here! This is all still very surreal to me...never in a million years did I think she would be OTJ. We were quite used to plugging away with shots and all that comes with it! I hope you guys don't mind, but I just can't bring myself to not post a daily Trixie condo...at least not yet. It is too much a part of my routine, and I don't adapt to change very well   !! Plus I do plan on continuing with daily testing for her, since her OTJ path was non-traditional, and since she tends to throw PS numbers that are out of range (just to keep me on my toes, I'm sure). If she decides she's tired of life at The Falls, I want to catch it right away.
Trix was feeling quite fine and feisty this morning! She almost ate enough on her own for me to skip her assist fed syringe...almost, but not quite. I think we're making progress, slowly but surely, though. It's been a bit "two steps up, one step back", but I have slowly been able to cut back on the assist feedings.
I mentioned in her Party Condo that I have a new kitten step to report. In her pre-pancreatitis days, she often jumped up on the table that Noah eats on to hunt for stray kibbles he dropped. Today, for the first time since her pancreatitis diagnosis back in April, she did just that! I was in the laundry room prepping their breffis, and I heard it...she has a distinctive jumping style and yes, I can tell by how it sounded that it was her jumping up! She did find a kibble...crunch, crunch, crunch. Oh, how I wish they were healthy for her ! It was a wonderful sight, seeing her up there after all this time. Bit by bit, old behaviors that I thought were gone forever seem to be coming back...
I tried to get sample of Stella and Chewy's freeze dried food to try yesterday, but they all had expired back in April  ! It's a good thing I noticed that on the bag. DH informed the sales clerks and they did toss them. I do want to try a sample, first, before committing to a whole bag.
Not only is today Trix's OTJ party, but it is also DH's birthday....lots to celebrate! We're going to our favorite restaurant for lunch. I have to get moving...need to workout first as a "preemptive strike" against all the eating I'm about to do.
Have a wonderful day, LL!
