I woke up to Max throwing up a little fur. No wonder he didn't meow for food. There was a tiny amount left over last night when I went to sleep which he may have eaten as there was a small amount of food in the fur. There was very little there and this is likely just another bounce from last night. I really thought he might be low this morning as he didn't drop quickly last night and I didn't have to fight to keep him up.

I can't remember who told me this but someone said their kitties BG goes up when they have a hairball. Not sure if that would last long. Looks like Max wants Mommabean to sleep during day and stay up with him at night. Sending vines...

Thanks, Julie. We could use those vines. I'm getting so frustrated with this dance yet again. :roll: It's really hard to stay positive. I have no patience left. I know others are sick of me complaining but I can't help it. :sad: I get my hopes up each time that he will settle in and he doesn't. It may be time to go back up to a fat 2.5 again.

Hoping this is just a bounce. I understand how you feel, really...look at Spot....he was so well regulated and then all of a sudden...pow....something happened. His numbers go low then high the not so high.....no rhyme or reason. We just have to dig our heals in and do what we have to do. We also need to see the bigger picture in the fact that our sugar babies are doing well and we are helping them stay that way. They don't care what their numbers are.....

I hope things start to even out for you....but if they don't, Spot and I are right there with you

I know, Deb. When I first looked at Spot's ss I saw all those blues and greens and thought he looked so good. I never will understand diabetes. I hope whatever is causing his bounces will stop and he will go back to those beautiful numbers.

So true Deb, "they don't care what their numbers are." Peyton has been diabetic before so I know it can easily return. My heart races everytime I wait for the number on the monitor. I guess that uneasy feeling never goes away no matter how good the numbers have been looking.
Elise, you are doing everything humanly possible for Max. I know it can be frustrating at times and you only want what's best for Max and you are doing a WONDERFUL job!!! Keep your chin up...he will probably surprise you tonight :)
Get out and take care of yourself for a bit. A nice breath of fresh air can do wonders for the soul :)

Aw, I'm sorry Max is up there again. At least you are among a group of amazing people who understand your frustration! No one is tired of hearing about it, because we all get it. I hope he comes down easily for you tonight and avoids another bounce. And yes, it is possible the hairball was part of Max's issue today.

Hang in there Elise! I can relate to all that your going through. Right now Chi Chi has been looking so good and it has given me so much hope, but I know how things can change quickly. I just try to keep thinking positive and even though its not easy, I have been very frustrated in the past on many days. You are doing the best you can and Im sure Maxs numbers will come down again and he will bounce less and less as time passes. heck, he and Chi Chi could just decide one day they are done with the juice and we will be celebrating and having their OTJ parties. Paws crossed for Max and all the kitties on here..

Gracie's BG goes up with a hairball, too, so let's hope it is just that.

I know that we can provide words of comfort like we've been there, we understand. But I also know it's just plain old hard when they are doing so well and then it poofs....even if only for a cycle or two. But I believe if they did well once, if there is nothing going on health wise, they will do well again and we just have to be patient and take it a step at a time. What other choice do we have?

I just tested him and he was 448 on Relion and 388 on Arkray. Hopefully it is the high before he comes back down to earth. I am positive he got his insulin and it wasn't a fur shot. Why is this happening?

Now my mom's doctor wants to put her on Eloquist but it is dangerous because of her weight and kidney function. She is at risk of a stroke or if she takes it internal bleeding and there isn't a test for this drug. He waited until 5:00 before a holiday to call.I asked if she should go into the hospital and he said no. We can't locate the drug so I guess she stays on coumadin and we hope her level goes up.

I'm ready for the lonny bin.

Oh Elise, I am so sorry for the frustration you are feeling - hugs!! This is definitely the most frustrating disease to deal with, and if you are like me, maybe your friends don't understand why you have to stay up so late at night, why you can't just get up and go to dinner because your cat has to be monitored. :roll: But you can definitely vent, that's what we're here for, sending all the empathy and healing vines I can muster. You are being pulled in so many different directions with Max and your mom, I hope you had some time for yourself too. I am really sorry to hear about your mom also, that's too scary of a drug, I hope the coumadin does it's job.

Thanks everyone for the visits and support. I really didn't want to test at +2 but I did. I got 333 on the Relion and 356 on the Arkray. The PMPS was 448 on relion and 388 on the arkray. I did both to see if it was a meter error.

Max has shown he likes to do a high before the break before. Hoping that's what this is. :YMHUG: But you'll get sleep tonight.

You asked last night in my condo about acupuncture. Of course it's ECID, the vet did say some cats will see some relief right away, others take a few sessions. But we are doing a course of 4 weekly sessions then evaluating and possibly going to once a month after that.
