Well went blue briefly early this morning but then climbed his way back up to his AMPS 473. I am really hoping that this will stop going into the reds becasue I dont like his getting that high. this was his third shot at 2u so I am hopeful. How long do you think it will take to start kicking in like before? When we started him on the 2u he was doing pretty good, got a little low at times, but now after the reduction, it seems he is getting higher at times than he ever has.

Hi guys .. no dosing advice from me .. I'm sure others will be along soon to help figure things out for you .. Hopefully you find the right dose soon and doogle starts showing some nice action .. have a great day!

+2 350....he came down pretty well from the 473. I just wonder why does it get to high near the end of the cycle? He wasnt doing this when he started on Lantus.

Ok +4 187....big jump down. Wish it would stay in the blues and go slightly green.

Some kitties have a late nadir on Lantus, and nadirs often shift too. It can be frustrating. Doogle is looking good on this dose!

+6 77.......WOOOHOOO. Hit the greens!!! Now, lets not go to much lower. I have come to realize his is wonky....sometimes it +6 and sometimes it +7 or 8. Should we test him at +7?

I would grab a test so you know if Doogle is heading up or down.

He's really a very good kitty. You said you wanted green!!

Do not be disappointed if you see a bounce. Doogle dropped almost 400 points this cycle. One thing to consider is giving him some LC food when you see a drop like the one between +2 and +4. It can slow things down. The 120 point drop by +2 was a good indicator that this was going to be a busy cycle.

Yeah I thought I would get one at +7. I feed him between the +2 and +4 (usually we give a couple of tspns after tests except at +10 and +11). He frustrates me because I will open something and he will turn his nose to it, so I open something else and he is cool with that. He is a finicky kitty that is for sure.

Hi, I haven't visited your condo before this, so just wanted to say you have a very pretty kitty. I don't give dose advice, but you are welcome to look at Daphne's SS. I learned something new this past week when I lowered her oz. per day….really brought her BGs down, but every cat is different. Other then that, good luck this time around. I also had a kitty on Humulin for 7 years, about 4 years back, and she lived to be 12 years old. I wish I knew about this site then. I like Lantus so much better then the Hum.

Awww, your baby is so pretty!!! Love her color!! Thank you for the encouraging words and I completely agree about finding a home here. I wish I had something I could give to people or a window cling or something so I can spread the word even more.

Ok he shot up like a rocket......+8 365............I just dont understand...I wish this bouncing would quit.

+9 441 ..........I just hope he doesnt go into the 500's...it makes me nervous. How long do these bounces last? It upsets me when he gets erratic like this.

Hi Donna,
You just have to hang in there. It sure looks like a bounce, and sometimes bounces can take up to 72 hours to clear. Doogle had green today on this dose, so keep with it for a few more cycles. You have to give a new dose time to settle (3 days: 6 cycles). When raising a dose there is always the possibility of NDW (New Dose Wonkiness). You are doing fine. Just keep observing and taking good notes.

Thank you Ella....I needed to hear that. Its amazing how something so small can affect you the way they do. Makes me feel like I did when my son was 8 and fell off his scooter and busted open his forehead. You feel helpless at times and hearing someone say it will be ok just helps settle the soul.

If it's +8, shouldn't it be 4 more hours until the shot? Sorry, I'm an engineer, I can't help it. :lol: :lol: Drat on that number. :evil: But he's bouncing and that's the way cats react to lower numbers. It takes a while to get used to them. We call it LTS: Liver Training School and Doogle is in 1st grade. You are doing a great job, Donna. Hang in there and keep doing what you're doing.

The bounciness will pass. It's just numbers and they change hour by hour. The positive side -- you'll get a good night's sleep 'cause in all likelihood, you won't be up all night testing.

PMPS 456....gave 2u. He is eating some FF chicken now (he was starving). He was fighting us all the way trying to test him and give him the shot......you would never know he has diabetes......lol

That's so great he is feeling better, the numbers will reflect that before you know it.

Hi Donna.....drat..I missed an exciting day for Doogle! Nice job.

Sienne had a great idea for you; I also think that when he's into green, it helps to feed a little LC and try to get them on a surfboard.

It is amazing how that liver can kick in! Hopefully, Doogle will soon pass liver training school!

+2 377.........sorry got delayed. A new stray kitty showed up in my backyard and I was outside sitting so he/she can get used to me. He meows at me and gets close but wouldnt let me touch him. I had to do the same thing with the other that showed up about 2 months ago. This new one is an orange spotted tabby with a fluffy tail but he/she is short-haired.He/She looks like Simba from Lion King or Daniel Stripped Tiger from Mr. Rogers. I am such a sucker for abandoned kitties. This makes 3 now (one I have been feeding for 2 1/2 years and he has HIV), the other showed up a couple of months ago I guess after people left the area after the tornadoes and he had a neck wound (better now). I just got to where I can pet him in the past few weeks. Doogle hates when I go outside to them, he gets jealous. I always wash my hands really well though before I pet any of mine. Ok I have rambled on......lol. I just like to talk about my babies...lol
