Trix has been in a pretty gluttonous mood this morning, which is always great to see. Unfortunately I also just startled her by dropping the lancet device out of my shirt pocket while she was eating  . Last evening, her PMBG was pretty high (175), and later that evening she pooped...I'm still holding on to the possible correlation between those higher numbers and poop!
Thank you for all the prayers for my Dad. Unfortunately, the news continues to be pretty bad, and we still don't have the full picture or a course of treatment for him. It actually looks like he most likely has 3 types of cancer at once: rectal, pancreatic, and prostate. It is unlikely for any of these to spread to any of the other locations, so that is why the doc thinks this. There is iffy imagery in the CT scan on the lungs and liver, which may or may not be anything. So, before an course of treatment can be determined (which would be palliative), he needs to have a PET scan done. The doctor is out all week next week, of course, so our next meeting with him is on Monday, August 11. He is still symptom-free....this is all so unreal - he is a man who, as the doctor said has "virtually no medical history" because over the course of almost 82 years, the only issue he has ever had is mildly elevated BP. I'm starting to research clinical trials and second opinions...we live close to some pretty big cancer centers.
I'll be thinking of everyone here, but my ability to post right now is a bit shaky while I digest this news yet again.....
