Looking good so far! I got a wacky # at +4 last night, but I was half asleep and didn't think to retest. I'm starting to wonder if the battery in my meter is going? I also got a strange # earlier in the day. I think I'll pick up a spare meter today (and a battery), been meaning to do that anyway!

HEY Laurie, dont know if I have posted to you yet, so Welcome to lantus land--
Mr. Tinkles is really gorgeous cat! Saw your SS & it was very colorful!--Lantus does Take a few days to settle into cat's system, and 304 isnt that high--I have several meters around--all you really need is the batteries--they do run out, and one extra meter --You can see if any of the companies are giving away free meters, if money is tight..(Like it is for all of us with FD cats!!!)
I think you may see some better numbers today--You are doing a great job--Have a great Fursday!!

I'm tickled ...um...pink with Tinkles' numbers so far. ;-) When he was first diagnosed, he was in the high 500s and HI on the meter for quite a while, so low 300s look pretty good compared to that! I forgot the WCR...he is sneezing more again, URI is still hanging on, so I'm thinking I need to start the l-lysine again. But his eyes look good, and he was RUNNING around this morning...something he rarely does! He feels pretty good, even with diabetic numbers so...I'm pretty pleased! Considering everything, he is doing terrific!

I hope we'll see another blue today, but if not, it will come with time. I watch closely though, because he loves to drop low out of nowhere...at least on ProZinc he did!

Roni, thanks for the welcome! Mr Tinkles got his name from the movie Cats & Dogs. My DD named him after the evil leader of the cats who was plotting to take over the world. There's a sequel coming out, and I saw a pic of Mr Tinkles in a mask like Hannibal Lecter....LOL. Fortunately, our Tinkles hasn't acted on any evil plots that are brewing in his brain....yet! :lol:

Is today Eat The Drooler's Food Day? He had a perfectly good blue number when I left to take DD to practice. DH came home to Tinkles eating the drooler's food (consumed, then thrown up sometime after I left!) :roll:

Bad Tinkles! But he did come and lay in my lap to apologize for his bad behavior...hard to stay annoyed with a purring lap cat!

what is the appeal of that stuff, dog food is nasty!

9 cycles on this dose and lowest number is 180, I'm thinking unless something changes tonight that Mr. Tinkles is ready for a dose increase to 1.5 tomorrow. What do you think?

Thanks Libby, you read my mind! I was thinking about asking for some experienced opinions tomorrow. I'll increase tomorrow morning, I think he's ready.

I think it was Fin that was also in the drooler food today! Angela's Blackie was in the dry cat food today too...maybe it was Regurgitated and/or Drooler Food Day. :lol:
