Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (Elsa - lots (!!) please. Ithis bean is so sleepy...), and Happy Monday everyone!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is CHEERY CHERRY MONDAY!! Lola and Bug want to make their cheery cherry pizza pies. I have to admit that they are pretty good! i just wish though that they would keep the cheery cherry whip on the pies, and stop squirting it all over the kitchen. They are all pink now... just like last week, ad the week before   OLLIE? Once again we are going to need your sponges! The sliding will be mega good today! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a VENTI Quad cherry infused white mocha/mocha blend with white chocolate chips melted within, topped with a cherry whip garnished with candied cherry sprinkles and white chocolate curls. SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of cheery cherry and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized cheery cherries and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride!

SORRY I Missed everyone yesterday. The hike was an all day thing and then my son and his GF stopped by in the evening. SO.... no condos for me. I missed you guys!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. My hike yesterday was such a good one, one that I know I will go back and do again. Tt was in the North Cascades, specifically the Mt Baker Area, which is just one of the most scenic area in our state. Hiking there is just the best experience, with incredible views. This is what I wrote in my post last night: "Hi everyone! oh boy.... am I ever beat! hike was OUTSTANDING!!! and I so need some really good liquid refreshment. I so love the North Cascades, which is were I went today. it was a new hike, an adventure, which proved to be just that: WHOA, but fun, and what an day.... I did go to the MT Baker area to a hike called Anderson Butte, and The lakes there as well: Anderson and Watson. The Butte was outstanding - you could see all for a 360 panorama. Beautiful is an understatement. I was lucky in that what little clouds there were did not fund the summit of Baker until I went home. I loved this section: an incredible hike, great views of Mt Baker, and Mt Shuskan. I went to Watson Lakes on the way out, didn't do Anderson Lakes, as that would have been another three hours, so took the recommended one. That was really nice too, with lake access, some campgrounds too. So we walked/hiked both lakes before heading on home. Incredibly beautiful there, and I am so glad that I elected to spend the time and hike the lakes too. I will laugh though - some turns on eh main access trail for both hikes aren't marked all that well, so I made two treks off the beaten path before it became obvious I has missed the main trail LOL! That was some rather heavy duty climbing to get out. oh well. all worth the effort. I did about 8.5/9 miles today, climbed 2400 feet on a trail that was rough and root strewn. Sure made it a challenge. Despite that, it was an awesome hike, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. The only drawback on today was the drive home: traffic was horrid, and i took me 3.5 hours to do what should have been a 2 hour drive. FUN! not... " Picassa link to photos and two videos" Anderson Butte, Watson Lake

but.... I was in such trouble when I got home.    Seems I was an hour late, and even though DH made sure they had their dinner on time they still let me now that I did not make the scheduled arrival time. They were prancing and dancing and carrying on. I even got the squinty eye from Lola, My signed blood oath was produced and I had to make amends. SO... they got dinner #2. Bug, Mr Hoover, was elated since he got two dinners. Elsa ate a bite and left, so Mr Hoover cleaned hers up too. Lola on the other hand guarded her bowl, finished it without Bugs help. Silly kitties. ;-) They seem to have been good kitties while I was gone: nothing broken or out of place, no Kleenex shredding, all was in it's place. OR.... DH cleaned up before I got home.  This morning however.... I find dirt scattered around my house plants. Seems that Lola was having fun making dirt pies. That will be on today's cleanup. Elsa is Raddy begging to go outside. Our weather continues to be really nice, and she's asking early of late to head on out. She is very much like Mannie in that regard: loves the outdoors.

Have a great day everyone. I'm not too sure what will be here today. I need to have my brakes looked at though. They are grinding something awful, since I came off the moutnin yesterday. I was on about 25 miles of a one lane gravel and dusty dry dirt rutted Forest Service Road, I suspect I may have picked up a stone in the braking system? Dunno... but I do need to get somebody to check them out. Hopefully I can do that on the morning so I can have the afternoon free. Paws crossed! maybe a short trip to the shore here then. YAY!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!!

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Hi, Michelle ~O)
I'm glad you had a lovely hike yesterday!
Good luck cleaning up those dirt pies ;-) . Silly Lola...
I love that Bug helps out with the fuds-eating. What a great helper!
And how nice you guys are having good weather ~ I hope Elsa is able to enjoy some of Mannie's Sunbeams today :-D .

Have a great day!
Good luck with your brakes repair.

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Hi Josie ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on all. Hike was awesome, so glad I went. I so agree on these kitties! Lola loves to insect the house pants. I wish she'd learn that inspection does not mean they have to be dug up.  I think so on Elsa and those sunbeams - she found quite a few yesterday. THX too on the brakes. I will hope it is something minor.

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Hey Lil Bit,

Dirt Pies!  :o :o - That better not be on the menu for Wacky Wednesday! I'm still trying to get over the honey and feathers from last week! @-)

You got your bean to make you a second dinner! Woo Hoo! Score Big Time! Wonder if you make her feed you whenever you want it. I have that power over my bean and can make her do my bidding! I even demand fuds in bed and on the sofa and she complies!

Wanna know the secret......

Signed Maui the Magnificent

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Maui - GF! What's up? I so told them on those dirt pies... what are they thinking? One never knows.... but - no dirt in them pizzas. Kinda scary as I heard them mumbling something about Wacky Wednesday too. oh oh...... and YUPP! We got TWO dinners last night - SWEET! All I had to do as look real pathetic and meow a pitiful meow and she caved. SWEET! I thinks I will try that again tonight. heeheehehe.... ~~ Elsa, dying to know the secret...

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Morning Michelle, that sounds like a great all day adventure and hike yesterday. Beautiful pics and do I see snow there?
Elsa, thank you for the double orders of 10 Hour coffee and Espresso, and Bub and Lola, I'll take three cherry, cherry pizzas. Can't wait.
Oh no on the dirt pies by Lola. I was waiting for the encore. Sorry I don't mean to laugh, but Lola is just such a character and sweetie pie, too, the way she loves breffifs with Nicholas.
Good luck on the brakes. It does sound like they need some inspecting. Hope you have time for a hike/walk. Have a greatt day, Michelle.

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Hi Michelle. The area you hiked in sounds so awesome. You're fortunate to have such natural beauty in your back yard so to speak. Got a good chuckle when I read the part "I even got the squinty eye from Lola, My signed blood oath was produced and I had to make amends.". That's something I believe that's something we all can relate to  .

Have a great day Michelle.

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

What a great report on yesterday! Ohhhhh no on being late. Those kitties learned from the best. Squinty eyes and all from Lola even? Oh my. Seems Mannie has been sending them instructions. Good luck getting your brakes looked at. Very important. Have a great day Michelle!!

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

OMG! That was quite a hike! Amazing views.    On the reception committee. I think you are losing control of the household!. Oh that's right, we've never had control since the first cat walked in on doors! ;-)

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) yes, the hike was really nice. I so agree on the views. The photos did not do if justice. I love my welcoming committee. it is so true! I don't think I ever bad control here. More like the chief cook and bottle washer!

Morning Melissa ~O) ~O) ~O) I so agree on those squinty eyes. It is so so Mannie! That and the signed blood oath! Tnx on yestdrdayr, and today. I'm sitting here at the car place as they deliver tbd bad news.... ARGGHHH! Oh well, one needs a well car.

Hi John ~O) ~O) it really is on awesome area, and relatively easy to get too. At least the one I did yesterday. It's nice that some of these areas are easy for the average person to get too. As long as they are willing to drive those rutted gravel roads to get there. I feel lucky that I can hike most of them. So true on that blood oath. :)

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) that it was! I had a great time, and the views were outstanding. Yes, that is snow. That section is at 5500 feet, some snow still left on areas that don't get a lot of sun. You can laugh all you want with Lola. I do all the time. She is quite the character! Never a dull moment here. I just saw Elsa running out the door: lots of pizzas and brews in tow. I wonder if there are any dirt pies in there. THX on the car. It set it ismore involved than I had hoped. New brakes, as I am running metal o on metal, along with two tires that will need replacing soon. So I did that too. Bummer! Might as well get it all taken care of while they have the car......

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

I love the welcoming committee and the dirt pies. I'm sorry your car has to have new brakes and tires, but at least you know it will be safe to drive now.

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Hi Michelle,
Your pictures of the Northern Cascades are breathtaking. What fantastic views. It looks like the top of the world. I really liked the video panorama, and the mountain formation that looks like a snowy crypt. Were there other hikers on those trails? Interesting that you got off the trail and had roots and rocks. That's what we have on all the trails in the Adirondacks--oh, and lots of mud, too.

The "welcoming committee" was just doing its job. Bad mamabean to get home late!!

Thank you, Elsa, for the great double espresso. I spent most of the day at my desk and really needed to stay awake so as not to make mistakes.

Have a great evening, guys. Thanks for visiting Rusty today. He's walking better. He's spent the whole day sleeping, but that might also be because he is no longer used to his old, green numbers.

Hugs & scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Mt. Baker is so beautiful. It's been ages since I've hiked up there. It's a little harder with border crossing and FD schedules now, but definitely want to put it back on the list sometime. Those emerald lakes are so picturesque.

I hope the brakes turned out OK. Don't want to mess with those.

Too funny on the welcoming committee and double funny that they managed to con you into a second meal.   Neko wants to visit you. ;-)

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

WOOT, what a day! I didn't do much today, but did take a short walk along the Sammamish river, out of bothell. it's been a while since I have been there, so thought why not today. Nice time, but run over by guys on bikes too many times, LOL. The morning was spent dealing with the car, which was a tad bit more involved that I thought or wanted it to be. $$$$ too. Seems the brakes were metal to metal. great. not. I had no clue, no noise etc until yesterday when coming off the mountains. just great : ) and the tires.... new tires all around. crap crap crap and lol. I knew the tread was beginning to wear, just not as bad as they showed me it was. my fault i guess on that one,. anyways. 3.5 hours and $800 i was out of there, with a morning spent at the brake and tire place. I have been having issues with my underwater camera, so brought out a newer model that was sent to me a s a replacement for another one that went belly up a few months ago and still under warranty.... well, the software isn't working, and the videos will not upload.... been dealing with this for a week. the saga continues. I did all of the program updates, current versions etc. and it still won't work. whicH leads me to believe something is amiss with the PC, etc, whihc takes Me to all the chit you found. I am missing something that will make this all work. I did hear back from Panasonic. they had one suggestion/ solution: uninstall and reinstall the software. did I do that? then it will work. oh sure and oh duh.... must have done that a dozen times. ya gotta love it. We will see what they come up with next. anyways - i am still smiling, laughing alot, and saying ******* even more. no biggie, we will just go without vids for a while. bummer! I will post the Picassa link to the Sammamish River pics in tomorrow's Loose Lips.

Hi Carla :-D I so agree on the welcoming committee. and well, one has to love the dirt pies! THX on the car, and I do agree. It is safer now,and I do feel better about that - kinda scary when I think I transport DGS alot. I'm glad it is repaired!

Hi Ella :-D THX on the pics - it was so great there - I wish I could ave stayed longer. Guess I will just have to go back! :-D  In a way it is on top of the world - 5500 feet up. It was so rewarding to get all the way up there and then see that view. WOW!!!! LOL on the roots and the rocks. ALot of the main trails here are that way too, this was no exception. I just knew I'd made an error where the roots and rocks were BIG roots and rocks.   oh yeah on the mud too - fun isn't it? We are lucky in a way that some of the trails here are well maintained, nice turf to be walking on, no rocks, no roots. I so know on the coming home late! I was warned....  I'm gad that Rusty is feeling better, walking better. YAY!
Auntie Ella - YAY! I did good then, and helped you stay awake. Primo! I is sorry though that you spent most of the day at your desk. bummer.... ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Hi Wendy :-D I so agree on Baker. I love it, one of my new fav places to go. it's nice too in that alot of the trails are not all that difficult, some even kids can do. Such views! I know too on the FD schedule aspect. I had never really been able to do much there what with Mannie an all. There never was enough time for me to get there (2.5 hr drive minimum one way) and then there was hike time. Just couldn't fit it all in. It's nice now to be able to go there, and know I don't have to rush things. YUPP on the brakes - needed new ones. So glad in a way i made the trip - guess mine were pretty bad. no warning sign, short of the noise that started yesterday on the mtn road. oh haha on Neko wanting to come for a visit. I am sure that the kitties here can make sure she gets a second meal too.

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Gosh, what beautiful scenery. It is just so gorgeous in your neck of the woods.

So awesome that you have a Clean Up Man there...no fuds will ever be wasted, no dish will ever need extra rinsing! I'm glad to hear Lola is still finding new adventures!! Have a great evening, Michelle!

Re: 7/29 LOOSE LIPS: A day in the mountians, and at the lake

Hi Amy - thnaks! The area is really a nice one. I have to agree, we do have some awfully nice places here. LOVE the mountains! I like that description of Bug: Mr Clean up man. It fits! :-D it is true - there never are any fuds wasted. :-D  yupp, never a dull moment with Lola. :-D
