Tiger is feeling good this morning! Came running for food!! My dream come true!

He is twitching more--I stopped mixing B12 into food because eating is a whole new thing...no teeth:eek:
I am trying to decide if I should give him a B12 (cyano) injection today. We'll see.

Ray and Campa are racing the hallway together and T wants to join in this morning--not quite there yet--but he did come out of the bedroom to the bathroom with us!

My mom made a stool in her college art class about 1936 and I am happy to say I still have it! She would absolutely love to see Ray relaxing on it-love you mom(GA):kiss:

What are these twitches like and what did the vet say they were due to?

We haven't really gotten around to investigating this yet. I asked for methyl and got cyano injectable...
I am planning to address it with her soon...
Right now it is small jerky movements. More twitchy than jerky fortunately.
 
My civvie had facial twitching a lot. My primary wasn't concerned. However, eventually she was diagnosed hyper thyroid. Started the methimazole and it took quite a bit of time to get dose and type of administration correct. I did not realize all the vomiting she was doing and we still were trying to get the methimazole correct. The twitching was less but still multiple time a day. I finally took her for ultrasound and the IM did a b12 test and it was super low, he didn't believe she was hyperT. He gave her a b12 shot. The following week I took her to a 3rd doctor for consult. She also gave a b12 shot and agreed she was hyperT. The following week she was due for repeat thyroid at primary. I asked about the b12 and again he still wasn't to concerned because of the vomiting. But he said being skeptical at first of giving b12 supplement, he found it did help if I wanted to try it. He told me to use Cobalequin from chewy if I wanted to try. Getting injections into her would be a fight for sure. These pills are chewable and at first she ate them. Now I have to crush in food. Its been about 50 days now on them. Ok some days she doesn't eat the food its in but its rare. She was retested a few weeks ago for T4, b12 and pancreatitis. The T4 and b12 are now normal, the b12 (290-1500) is now >1000 where it was 202 in May. The pancreatitis is better but still high.

Her twitching has stopped altogether. So whether it was the b12, hyperthyroid meds or both, I don't know but it has stopped.

So maybe a b12 test and thyroid test wouldn't hurt to do.

TY Paula. His Thyroid is good. Zobaline and methyl in his food was helping.
Glad your baby is doing better!

I was using zobaline and B12 in his food but haven't since his dental and don't want to deter him from eating right now!
The cyano does break down and provide some methyl from what research I have read. And I can't get methyl in injectable form from my vet so I think it might be worth a try?
 
And a single B-12 shot won't hurt if it makes you feel better...

I would probably give it. Did you?
 
His 72 hour pain med wore off and he seemed to be not feeling as comfortable. Vet said we could open gaba capsule and put some on food and that has relaxed him some. Also adding B12 to his food again because the twitching was becoming constant and stronger. That has also helped a little bit.
