7/28 Ming PMPS = 146, +1.5 = 115, +3 = 92, +4 = 92

Personally, I never liked a dose with pink in it, much less red. A dose increase might lower some of those high end numbers.
 
If the Libre is to be believed at lower numbers, he did get some decent greens. I might try tweaking with a 0.25 unit increase.

So... I messed up. I was removing Ming’s libre sensor and ripped out chunks of hair :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

I sprayed the area with ease off bandage stuff. Slowly peeled the sensor off and was horrified to see that the spots where the tissue glue was was completely bald. His reaction was delayed and I even cleaned it and rubbed it and he had no reaction.

Then 5 minutes later, he started running around, panting, hissing, scratching and licking at himself. I followed him in fear that this was a reaction to BG so I took a reading and saw that it was going down and was scared he wouldn’t eat when he was too low. So I gave him LC with honey to boost him up. Might have been a bad choice, might not. We’ll know in a few hours.

(+3 = 92. Lol the honey did nothing.)

I gave him bupe and put polysporin on the area. It’s now very red. I hope the polysporin is ok. I know some of you use it for ears.

I plan to either clean the area with saline or chlorehex scrub tomorrow.

He’s settled down now and resting. No longer panting and breathing fast. He ate well.

I thought his BG would spike up from all the stress but it didn’t. My mom said it might spike up later because of stress. Well it’s definitely gonna go up because of the honey.

I forgot to go to Wal-Mart :facepalm:

Phew... I’m not going to put a Libre on him for a while until his back heals... poor guy.

:eek: Feel better soon Ming! So bizarre that he had such a delayed reaction. I’m glad his BG levels are ok... if you use the polysporin it will definitely provide relief :)

Thank you! Yes, it was really bizarre. I thought, wow, Ming! You're taking this pain really well! Then nope... :nailbiting:

My first instinct was to put polysporin on it. Then I started googling and the websites said "NO IT'S BAD!!!" But I remember people using it here so... I think it's providing relief. And of course the pain meds are helping.

+4 = 92

I won't feed and see how he does at +5.

He's himself again... phew!!!!!!!!!!! I only hope once the bupe wears off that he's still ok. I only have enough for one more dose. I hate that it expires.

This has also made me wonder if pancreatitis or this wound is more painful for Ming. Maybe the surprising pain of it shocked him more than the actual pain.
 
Hope Ming feels better:). One thing I remember reading in some studies of Libre, is that some dogs had skin reactions from it & it looked similar to your picture even when it was when taken off at the vets, so its possible that it wasn't just a result of how you removed it. Maybe worth asking the vet just in case there is a skin sensitivity. I know someone on this forum used something they purchased when removing the Libre but I can't remember what it was. I will try to find it & send it. Hope the skin heals fast for you guys.
