Good morning -

Well, Emma's way down for her AMPS today....not sure what's going on here. It may be that she didn't like any of the food I put out yesterday and only ate a little bit of it. I tried several different things, but she wasn't all that interested in anything but the shredded chicken I put on top of the food. Even a nice smelly fishy FF didn't do it for her. She goes through this every once in a while, and usually bounces back and likes everything in a day or two. It's a little scary when she's on insulin though!

I'm thinking about leaving early from work today just to spend some time getting stuff done around the house. Between constantly checking on her and having a lot of other things going on, I feel so far behind on everything I need to do. And work is just not fun anyway.....

and good luck getting things done, I know how things can get away from you and suddenly there's so much to do!

Really nice AMPS, Emma!

Hi Kristen, Probably the lower than usual AMPS number is affecting Emma's appetite. That's the way it happens with some cats. I'm sure she'll be fine as the day progresses. Enjoy your chores!!!!

Most definitely! This is very true. This is a nice amps for Emma. I hope she has a great day today. I too can relate on how things just don't quite get all the way done, or even looked at. Mannie takes alot of my time, not that I mind, but it does...

Thanks Michelle and Ella. I figured her appetite would diminish as her BGs come down and maybe that's what's happening now. But she also gets this little "it may have been my favorite yesterday, but I hate it today" attitude every once in a while. She'll turn her nose up at everything I put down for two or three days, and then decide she likes it all again. I don't know what that is, but it's been happening for years, especially since she went to only wet food. It scares me a little with the insulin! nailbite_smile

And now she's at 236 @ +7.25. She did eat some of what I put down, but not all of it. She just wants chicken now, so I have some cooking to do!

And I've already managed to do an errand AND get my oil changed on my way home...way more productive than I've been in weeks! :smile: Still lots more to do before I feel like I'm getting caught up!

Well, she pretty much surfed in the yellows for much of the afternoon. It would've been interesting to see what happened this morning! I'll be around for the evening to see what happens...

I got lots done this afternoon too - woo hoo! got an oil change, got gas for the grill, went to the supermarket, washed some dishes, did some laundry, made a pie...I'm on a roll!

We all fall into a routine with caring for them..You will be just fine & Nice yellow surf today!!
Cats are so tempermental cat(2)_steam --One day they like one thing & the next day, something else!!
Most cats will eat when they feel themselves drop, and it is true they are less hungry in lower numbers--but in real low numbers
But right now, it's new, so we will support you as you go along & Emma will get much better!
You are doing a great Job & hope you see some more blue tonite!! HUGS!! :mrgreen:

Thanks for the encouragement Roni and Moonie! Sometimes this is nervewracking!

She's down to 170 at +2...hope she slows down a little!

After a while the routine settles, everything just falls into place. Even all that testing! Hope your finicky eater stops being finicky :-D Mannie on the other hand just eats anything and everything... It is true though, the more regulated they become, the less the food intake.

Nice yellow surf today - I bet that soon you will see some action, they always seem to after a yellow run. Maybe some action tonight, lower numbers. Wow with a 90 point drop tonight I bet she will keep you busy. Slow down there Emma!

she's doing a little surfing in the blues tonight...I'm going to stay up for a little longer and get a +4.5 to see where she might be going...
