384 at +7! I wonder how high it would be right now if I hadn't given R 3 hours ago... How long does a vial of R remain stable in the refrigerator? It was opened on 3/01. At least I won't have to worry about him tonight when I'm with family...

399 at +8. I was tempted to double the dose but gave 1.5 units instead... just in case the +4 dose was a fur shot. Maybe the vial has lost potency. But Chino's response to R is wildly inconsistent. On 6/22, 1 unit took him from 337 at +4 to 181 at +8 (on the first cycle of a bounce). On 6/24, 0.75 units took him from 369 at +4 to 336 at +8. On the night of 7/18, 1 unit took him from 432 at +4 to 354 at +8.

@Sandy and Black Kitty Sandy is the R expert and she informed me R is much more durable and less temperature sensitive than Lev/Lantus.

That 249 at +4 was a little unexpected... then again, I've noticed a recent pattern of +4 nadirs on bounce cycles, so he might be on his way back up after the +4 meal. But just in case he keeps dropping by 50 mg/dL/hr, the next check will be at or before +7.

+8 = 63! I got distracted and fell asleep before setting an alarm, so I didn't wake up until my usual alarm went off at +8. I hope I caught him on his way down instead of on the way back up. He wasn't crying for food like he was last night, be he was obviously very happy about getting it, purring during the test, purring loudly in the kitchen while waiting patiently for me to prepare it. Gave 3 tsp MC 12% for peace of mind. Though I know 63 is safe, it's unusual for him to break a bounce after 1 cycle, and I don't want him going much lower while I'm asleep.
