we spent roughly a week trying to get back on track from the one day I didn’t set my alarm. We did the 15 mins per cycle but some days my boyfriend forgot and didn’t adjust the 15 minutes. This morning finally puts as back at our original shoot time

I just keep thinking if I hadn’t found this group… and continued with 4 units with no adjustment and little to no home testing which is what my vet recommended. Wow we have come a long way, it’s quite possible my girl would not be here :nailbiting:

nervous about when we go back to the vet and tell her what we’ve been up to. We actually haven’t been back for roughly one month since her recheck urinalysis. Is there any reason to go back at the moment if things are going well at home?

Almost all of us here have disregarded our vet's advice - whether it is to feed prescription food, or increase the dose in multiples of 1U, or not home-test, or keep the BG over 150 etc etc. And we have managed our cat's diabetes with advise from people here and using the FDMB dosing protocols.

There is no need for you to go back to your vet. Belle is doing great on the diabetes front. He is probably going to say her numbers are too low. :rolleyes: Even though the BG of a normal cat is 50-100. I've tested by civvie and she's always in the 70s!

I’ve tested mine a few times just for comparison and she’s always 70-80s! I do remain a little concerned about her tendency to develop crystals but we will deal with that, if, it happens again. I have been adding ample amounts of water to their food so I’m hoping that concern remains of low importance :)
