Good Full Thunder Moon, Everyone,

Stu is gearing up for the big party tonight at Shadow's and Raja's. (Watch out, Pat, here come the hoards, or should we say the herds?!) He's making his inventory, checking the ingredients, and really looking forward to the party. Good AMPS, eaten installments 1 & 2 of breakfast, been outside, contributed to the litterbox, and now is "resting" because he knows it is a vet day!!! (I don't know how he knows, because we have been very careful not to say anything. But he knows!). I'm taking a copy of the SS for the vet. I also want him to write a new prescription for Lantus because I would like to order from Canada Drugs Online. Does anyone know whether the vet himself has to fax in the prescription, or can I just send it to them, or fax it myself? Is there a legality issue (i.e., can a vet get in trouble for writing a prescription that will be filled in Canada and shipped across the boarder??). If anyone knows about such things, please let me know before about 10:30 Eastern time (it is now 8:50)
Thanks, guys! Back later,

Ella & Stu

Re: 7/26 Stu AMPS 241, +2 217

looks like a nice slow drop already ... very nice stu! I hope you have a good vet visit today ...have a great monday guys!

Re: 7/26 Stu AMPS 241, +2 217

Good morning Ella and Stu! Glad to see Stu is heading in the right direction...hopefully he'll be out of the yellows and into the greens soon! Hope all goes well w/the vettie bean and you get an excellent report for Stu!

As far as the script is concerned....my vet wrote the script for Lev and I had to fax a copy of it to Canadadrugs.com. I don't think there is a legality issue or they wouldn't fill it. They know the insulin is going to be shipped to the US.

Hey Stu....I hear that you are going to the vettie bean today....oh goodness...I hate going there myself. My bean takes me there all the time...when my numbers start going a little higher she worries and scoops me up and puts me in that blue thing and then puts me in that thing that moves...yuck! The last time she did that to me, I fell asleep there and when I woke up I was missing some of my choppers!!! Imagine that, will you!! But one good thing about it is that now I feel much better and boy oh boy can I eat now!!! So good luck there buddy, will be waiting for you at the full thunder moon party tonight at Raja and Shadow's place!!..............Spot

Re: 7/26 Stu AMPS 241, +2 217

Hey Stu....don't worry about bringing everything either for tonight....we have stuff and there is supermarket right across the street. We can pick up anything you need buddy!

I think the vet needs to fax the script to Canada Drugs....or you can mail it but that takes time. Just ask him to fax it up there...
See you later Stu....we will all be together later and the memory of the silly vet trip will be forgotten soon enough!
Good luck!!!

Re: 7/26 Stu AMPS 241, +2 217

When I asked for the script, I mentioned that I was going to fill it at a Canadian pharmacy, and the vet balked a little, said that she wasn't sure if it was legal. She also said that no script was necessary in Canada. I told her that this pharmacy requires a script, and maybe it was because they use distribution centers in the US? She wrote the script after all, and I faxed it in, no problem at all.

So, in light of my experience, I would NOT get into a discussion about where you are filling it, just get the script and fax it in yourself. I used CanadaDrugsOnline, and they knew I was faxing the script myself, not a problem at all.

Off to the vet with good numbers. Hope we'll return with good numbers!! I'm going to send in the prescription myself by mail to Canada Drugs Online, attached to the form I downloaded.

See you later with a vet report.

Oh geez, I just checked out that CanadaDrugsOnline site, and I almost wish I hadn't. I just bought new pens a few days ago and haven't started using them yet, but I paid more than twice as much for them as the site lists. Well, at least I know for next time!

Stu-
I'm on my way to Shadow and Raja's now! I'll help with anything you need done, ok? See you soon!!

Hi Everyone,
Stu did fine at the vet. He had his yearly distemper shot and his yearly feline leukemia shot, a fecal analysis, and a brief, general examination. His teeth need to be cleaned (never has been done!), so we made an appointment for late August to do that and also to do a full blood workup. He has lost weight (about 1 1/2 lbs since early April) and the vet thought it would be a good precaution to see if anything is going on. (I think it's because he no longer eats dried food; in any event, he used to be overweight and now looks great.) The vet was very impressed with Stu's spreadsheet and with the-- what-he-considers-- microdoses that we measure. He gave me a new prescrption for Canada Drugs Online and I will fax it to them in a couple of weeks, since we will be in NYC the 2nd week of August and I don't want to take the chance that it will sit around the post office too long without proper refrigeration. (I took Laurie's advice and did not tell the vet I was ordering from Canada, even though we live practically on the border.)
Interesting that the vet visit didn't spike Stu's bg. 44 at +6, when we returned home, and 62 at +7 after a combination lunch of 8% Merrick (Granny's Pot Pie) and By Nature 95% turkey & turkey liver. Stu has been happily lounging around in his garden this afternoon while my DH and I worked on our back steps (we hope to paint tomorrow). And now the chef is ready to party!! He's on his way to Pat's, Shadow's and Raja's with all of his equipment and will meet the kitchen crew there. The menu sounds delicious (bison meatballs; aka, canonballs; grilled shrimp; tuna souffle; and whatever else the kitties bring.
HAPPY FULL THUNDER MOON all you kitties (and beans, too).

Hi Ella,
I just ordered insulin from Canadadrugsonline today. My vet didn't want to send the rx until I told him several people in my group had used them and got the real Lantus. He was concerned about counterfeit drugs from China. The people at CDO said that it would take 10 to 14 days for the insulin to get here. That is a little worriesome, but I just couldn't spend $218 for it locally when I can get it for $125. I will report back when I get it.

Blackie is ready to go to the big Thunder Moon Party tonight as soon as I feed him and give him his shot. He can't wait to see all his buddies. Stu sure had great numbers today!

Hi Ella! It sounds like Stu passed vet with flying colors! Too bad on the dental, but good that you will get it done. Mannie used to have such great teeth until FD came along... Now we are in there twice a year! Nice on the weight too - I'm with you! Its the can vs the dry thing - and good for Stu. I wish I could get Mannie to thin down - not happening. I did Mannie's full blood/chem panel a few months ago - it was nice to see that all was well with him - a relief! Hope the same for Stu. One less thing to worry about.

Good luck with the steps! :-D

Ella,

Crazy drop...will you give him a decrease or wait to see if it was the vet effect?

It was a gradual drop (see Stu's SS), but I had to delete some numbers in the heading here to make room for the new numbers. All is OK today!!

Good night all, I hope the kitties are having a ball at the party tonight!
