Yesterday's

7/25 AMPS=126; +2=104; 8.5=119
7/25 PMPS=128; +2=97; +3=119; +6.5=146

7/26 AMPS=238; +1=257; +2=234; +7=155; +8.5=169
7/26 PMPS=158; +2=133

I don't understand......
She was feeling really good yesterday and the day before yesterday after being sick on Tuesday, but she is not feeling so good again today.
And her AMPS number is quite high for her.

It's not as bad as Tuesday, because she didn't vomit or had diarrhea, but her appetite is low.
She did eat her 1st breakfast when I brought the food to her and hand fed slowly, but wasn't really interested.

I don't know what caused this sudden change.
I don't know what happened overnight....
When she chewed and swallowed, she made some sounds that made me think that her nose might be snotty.
But when she is not eating, she is breathing normally from her nose.
This problem is not new, it's been on and off, but usually she'd act normal

I wonder in what order things are happening.
If she is bouncing from last night's green, and the high BG is causing her to feel crappy.
Or, she is feeling crappy for some other reason, and that is making her BG high?
Maybe if her number comes down a bit, she'll feel better.... I hope so......

Morning Mariko, so sorry Lucy is not feeling good today. That number is a little high for Lucy; does she eat any food overnight that might cause it? Sending healing and appy vines for Lucy.

If Lucy is congested, it may very well be effecting her appetite. If a kitty is having trouble smelling, they may not be enticed to eat. Have you ever tried "steaming" your cat? You turn the shower on to very hot and shut the bathroom door and let the room get steamy. Then, put Lucy in there for 20 min. or so. It may help to break up whatever is giving her the sniffles.

I'd be surprised if this is a bounce, but you never know. I think you'll have a better sense of what the numbers are telling you once you have a couple more tests today.

Just sending along some feel better vines...I hope her congestion clears and her appy picks up. It's so hard for us beans when the furbabies don't feel good!

Also sending Lucy some healing vines. Poor little one. I agree with Sienne...if she can't smell her food, she won't eat. Myou may have to syringe or hand feed her until you get her head clear.

I don't leave any food out overnight, so I don't think she ate anything after yesterday's before bed test treat until this morning...
I haven't tried the steaming method, but I will do it tonight when I can stay in the bathroom with her.
Not enough time this morning to accumulate enough steam and then stay with her for 20 minutes......

I think the +1 test is too influenced by food.
She usually drops at +2, so I'm hoping her number will be better the next test....

Mariko, I just wrote something similar on Shasta's condo. She's been sneezing and rubbing her eyes (just like me) and her appy has been really questionable... until I bring out the good stuff and then she seems to be just fine! :roll: I hope Lucy starts feeling better and I hope you have a good day.

Lucy ate her 3rd dinner better.
Still by finger-feeding, but she actually sat up and waited for her next bite.
So I think her appetite is coming back......

But!!!!
Her BG is not coming down.
I don't know why she's so high this morning.
She doesn't do well in yellow......

Lucy has come down to blue.
And she seems to be feeling better now than this morning.

Really no idea what caused her to feel so unwell or those yellow numbers this morning....

She is much better this evening.
I am so relieved!!
She wanted to be finger-fed, but she ate her 1st dinner well, not super good, but much more willing to eat than this morning!
And her PMPS is blue!

I hope that whatever it was that made her sick and her BG high this morning is passing now.
It's really strange that I have absolutely no idea why her BG went high.
It could be anything... I guess I'll never find out exactly why.....
She has a blood work and check-up appointment next weekend, so I'll ask the vet to take a real good look at her teeth.
Her front teeth and fangs look fine, but it's really hard to take a good look at the back teeth.
I don't smell any infection, but maybe dental might be due......

It's both my and Lucy's birthday today.
I actually don't know Lucy's real birthday, so I gave her the same date as mine. :-D
I almost forgot about it, mind so occupied riding Lucy's roller coaster this week.

Hi Mariko,
I'm glad Lucy is feeling a bit better this evening. Sometimes you just never know what is happening. It's one of the mysteries of FD.
They are cats, after all!

Thank you so much for the "happy birthday"!
Nothing special is happening today, but I'm just going to sit and relax with Lucy the rest of the night.
I haven't had dinner yet, so I'll order in something yummy.
Lucy just gave me a wonderful b-day present of perfect poo. Such a sweet girl.
I'm going to give her a special loving cuddly time in return, lots of brushing with her favorite brush without touching her knots.
My friend will take me out for dinner tomorrow if Lucy says OK. :-D

You are right about the fireworks tomorrow. :twisted: The sound echos against the mountain and we hear them really well over here too. Kitties will NOT be happy.
