I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. Nicholas and I had an exceptional one. We went to one of my fav river spots, up in the mountain area this side of Stevens Pass. It is incredibly beautiful there, with wide open valleys, rivers in the middle, and impressive mountain ranges. The day was sunny, warm, with a slight breeze. So off we went to enjoy it. This is what I wrote in last night's post: "i everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. I am back home later than expected, and WOW: TIRED! Nicholas and I did head on out to a river today, and ended up spending the whole day there. I barely made his pickup time at his dad's work. ;-) What a great day today for the little guy and I. The Skykomish River at Jack's Pass (15 miles in off of HWY 2, shy of Stevens Pass) was ever so nice. Nice and warm up there too. Thank gawd there was a breeze. In all the times we went last year, and this, this was the first time I have pulled onto that side road and found a couple camping. LOL: they camped in my park spot. the nerve! It was ok, they didn;t mind us, and we gave them their space. Nicholas had a ton of fun exploring, playing in the river. He threw a ka-zillion rocks, a few sticks, went wading up to his knees, collected flowers, walked trails, ate as many berries as he could find. The area was full of thimbleberries, and a few salmonberries. It was so beautiful there today. I just love it there. It seems the Nicholas does too. On the way home I stopped at the junction for the FSR 65 offshoots, and the bridge where the Beckler River joins the Rapid, as it is one of the first spots that can get cell reception and I wanted to get the mobiles uploaded. What was so fun was that Nick recognized it, begged to get out and go see the Beckler River. So we did. Alot of folks camping there too. We stayed mostly on the Rapid River side at the spot where the two rivers join. so fun to watch him play in the river - he was soaked. It was so hot there that it must have felt good. What a great day for him. As we packed up to head home for sure he tells me "we gotta go back, please. soon, ok?" sure little guy, anytime you want. love it. :-D :-D :-D " Here are the Picassa link to the photos and the videos: Skykomish River: Jack's Pass, Rapid River The last section of the photos, where the river scenery changes to a more woods like area is the portion of the day spent on the Rapid River, the rest is all Jack's pass.

Yesterday I wrote about the recycling cans in the bin in the storage cupboard under the sink.... I had so hoped that it was a one time occurrence.... NOPE! I came home today to find cans once again scattered throughout the house. :o      Well, in all honesty it was only 6 small cans, as I did dump yesterday's once I realized they were can hunting... we so need to fix this... like yesterday.... I was so late getting home yesterday that I was certain the welcoming committee may have set up tents, and would be camping out waiting for me... well not quite, but they were prancing.  The Mannie prance! It seems he taught them his dance moves. ;-) I had to sign a blood oath that I would not be late again. Seems he taught them that too.   sorry guys.... but traffic was the pits. All else is as it is here these days: Normalcy in MusketeerVille! ya know... scattered kitty toys on the kitchen floor, shredded paper, tossed fuds cans, magazines knocked off the table and scattered. OH! We have a new one! he lid on the butter dish was askew and down the one side was a big long kitty lick mark. Somebody had a field day.  Nicholas also wanted Lola to join him for breffis yesterday. Well she showed without an invite. It sees to be her thing now. I took a few photos. Seems she thinks blackberries are good. HUH? Breffis: Lola and Nicholas

Have a great day everyone. Nicholas will be here again today, and normally today is a swim day. We will see what he wants to do, but I expect/know he'll want to go to the pool. He loves that as much as he does those rivers! I will try and get to condos when I can. Forgive me if I miss so many of you....

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!!

Ha ha - they were starving so they had to feed themselves and all they could do was lick what was left in the old cans. And the butter was a just a jackpot! It is sad really, if only you would feed the kitties they wouldn't have to scrounge the house searching for food. @-) @-)

Hey Lil Bit,

My bean doesn't have anymore of my yummy beast feast and now I have nuthin to eat! She's trying to pass off turkey and chicken and I'm not having it! Will you ask the buggers to make me a beast feast pizza and deliver it super quick! I'm a starvin over here! I'm going to waste away I'm so so hungry!

Oh and if you want to be nice to the bean, she'd love a Friday Frappe!

You know make that two pizzas! No telling when she's going to wise up and get me my beast feast!

Signed Maui the Magnificent, starvin Marvin here!

Michelle, morning and thanks for the coffee, Elsa. Bug and Lola, I will take three pizzas loaded with mushrooms and extra cheese/
Oh that Lola and Bug with the cans. They are too funny, was it both of them. So cute with Nicholas and Lola having berries for breffifs. I love that pic of her on her two hind feet. That looks like a beautiful river spot to hang out for the day and love all the pics.
Thanks for all your info and help on the Tumil-K. Gosh, scary they don't give us more info when they hand out a script.
Have great swim time with Nicholas today and a river hike maybe or another adventure.

Wow, what a great day! And the welcoming committee, Mannie has them well trained. :-D :-D I had to laugh at the tongue grooves on the butter.   Have a great day, Michelle!
Liz

Hi Michelle. Isn't it great when you take your small grandchildren on an adventure and it's such a hit they want to do it all again? Love the pictures. Got a good laugh when I read about the can incidents and especially the butter lick    . It makes you think about what a spy camera would reveal about the kitty going ons when you're out of the house. Sounds like Nicholas is building a special bond with Lola. Hope he has a fun time swimming.

Have a great day and fun weekend. Keep making those memories with Nicholas.

Great pix again! Sorry I have missed a few days, but thank you elsa for remembering our regular order. I couldn't get fgoing inthe morning w/out it! An extra quad wouldn't be amiss this morning either. Wow, nearly the end of July. How soon until Nicholas can get back in the big pool?

What they got the lid off the butter and only too one lick?! Silly kittehs! Butter is the bestest! Any kind of Pizza?!!! Oooooo, make mine Anchovy and Tuna w/ bonito shavings and nori flakes! i send along some Catmint Crisps for dunkers too! -- Tess

Nice on the day yesterday! Looks like you had a lot of fun. Is that actually a sleeping Nicholas? That boy is the energizer bunny. Have a great day!!

Fantastic report today, Michelle! Love the pics of Nicholas and Lola...can't believe how big he's getting! Sounds like another wonderful day in store....

That's so funny about the butter. You're definitely going to have to do something about the recycling. Once a kitty learns where to get food, they don't forget.

I hope you had a good swim day with Nicholas.

Hi Michelle,
Fabulous pics of the river. I love the rock-throwing video. Nicholas is really getting strong, and big! What a great kid he is.

Butter!!!--butter was Stu's middle name. We had to be constantly on guard. I wonder which one of your kitties is the buttercat?

I'm sure that you had a fine day in the pool today and that you also went berrying. It won't be long now before Nicholas can get back into the big pool.

Elsa, what a treat to have that frappe with dessert tonight. And the triple espresso was extra good this morning.

Have a great evening, guys. Enjoy the weekend.

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty (the LagoonMeister is back in the lagoon this evening)

HI everyone! Sorry to be so MIA today.Today was just insane, incredible busy, nutsville with whip cream on top. Nicholas and I had a great, but very very busy day. Pool was good, though his frustration with the no big pool was there today. It was a hot topic of conversation for him. ;-) Latest word is that it will be available come the week after labor Day. Long time for a 2 yr old to wait. Oh well, it is what it is, and we wait... It didn't help today either when they closed the hot tub. We use that as it is the only area available with any water depth. Seems the pool guy couldn't figure out why the clarity of the water was compromised when the jets were turned on. Not to mention an unbearable chlorine levels. all the kids were coughing, tearing eyes, etc etc etc. other than that - a great time there for him. Neither one of us stopped moving.   shesshhhh! We hit the trails after that - blackberries are ripening well, very tasty! Today was one of those days when napping was not on his agenda. I could see that coming when the ride home at nap time was filled with non-stop chatter in the backseat. LOL!      No way was that kid sleeping... so we went to the beach at Picnic Point instead. That was great. He was running in the surf, laughing, just having a super time. Awesome says it well. SO MUCH FUN there. We brought buckets and shovels and water toys. I can still see him running in and out of the surf. It was so cool. anyways - grammie is worn out, LMAO. so do me a favor, anyone, and have a beer or three for me.  I will post the Picassa links in tomorrows Loose Lips.

Thanks everyone for visiting me, Nicholas and the Three Musketeers today. I am so tired... so please forgive me for not answering each post individually. I have read them all, and do thank you guys for taking the time to post.
Ella - not too sure on the butter, but I think it is Bug. I am so glad to read that Rusty is back at the lagoon!
Carla - so agreed on the recycling! we used a rubber band as a temp solution to hold the to door handles together. LOL: they broke the band!
Melissa - yes, one of the FEW moments when he sleeps!
Ann - 9/9 is the first day the big pool will be available. a longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg time!
John - YES! I cannot agree more. He talked alot about it today too. YAY!!!!! Will do (!!) on the memory building. :-D
Ann - you are welcome on the tumil-k. I know Maggie will be fine, just keep on top of it with her levels. There is a test that they can do just to check that, and it's not too expensive as I remember. that is what I did with Mannie, just a potassium level test.
Hilary - i know! starving they were, scrounging required!

TESS!! I knows -I told BUG to keep on licking! Silly kitty! OK - got the order! Anchovy and Tuna w/ bonito shavings and nori flakes! Lola and Bug say that is a keeper. can they add it to the menu? ~~ Elsa

Maui - WHAT????????????????? No tummy beast feast???? Lola and Bug are on it. They gots LOTS of that stuff, so one mega size beast feast is coming up. affirmative on your bean. ~~ Elsa, no starvin marvin here....
