Re: 7/26 enana amps 133 dental today
There's no way to know how Enana will feel. I'd suggest picking up some baby food (all meat and broth, no onions or other veggies -- Gerber Stage 2 or Beechnut). Gabby always needs extractions. Sometimes she wants baby food other times, she wants her regular food. Usually, it takes a day or maybe two before her mouth will feel OK.
Make sure that post-procedure x-rays are done so you are certain no roots are left behind.
Remember to get pain meds -- preferably buprenorphine. It can given either as a subcutaneous injection (like insulin) or orally (you use a syringe that doesn't have a needle -- the vet with give you one -- and put the bupe in the cheek pocket).
Usually with extractions, your cat will get an antibiotic. My vet typically gives an injection of Clindamycin and has never sent me home with pills but vets differ. If Enana is on ABs, you may want to give her FortiFlora.
Remember, NO Metacam. NO Convenia (unless Enana has had it before and was OK).
