I hear you, LOL
I used live in the place where they were as common as flies and where hunted down by small lizards - which were running on the walls all of the time. We never minded the lizzard - once you got used to them thet actually funny and cute.
My daughter had lizards and tree frogs on her walls one place they lived, and they were really cute. Since living there she is scared of spiders and kills them. I think it depends on the kind common where you live.

Unfortunately I always had a thing for spiders - ever since I was little girl .

Something is certainly going on with Ducia - she is not herself. One minutes she seeks attention and needy - another tries to bite me...Not crying but vocally addresses me, very atypical. Sits in a an egg position, I think it might be pain indicative :(. Facial expression odd. Breathes not exactly rapidly but somewhat faster then usual. Could be Mirt or anything else.

BG @+2 is 206. Done eating her usual +2 meal of Tiki Cat. Grooms in bed now. Hopefully she'll take a nap and that will make her feel better.

Mirt can definitely make them strange. It made my mom's old guy very strange.

How long can it last?
If Ducia got any then it is very little from what I tried to syringe in.. She spat almost everything.
It reminds me that I need to go and clean the mess I made around. I'll post updates later on.

I'm not sure, Tanya. A few hours at least. However, she might not have had much. Has she had mirt before?

I feel bad for you. Sending thoughts and prayers!

Hi everyone! I want to post an update for Ducia - it seems that she is better. The Mirt as little of it as I could get in works! She vocally asks for food and ate all her meals with appetite (anti-jinx & touching the wood ). The Bg levels stay flat yellow wich I think is consistent with bouncing after the log string of greens 3 cycles ago. Some odd-ness in behavior is still there for instance she tried to bite me again and her voice sounds odd and demanding.

DH is home from work and we just finished examining her with stethoscope, mouth exam and overall body palpation. The belly is soft, no masses noticeable and no sign of pain @palpation. There is still red lines above her upper back teeth but it looks narrower than before and her lower gums are clear of all redness and appear not as yellowish as her upper once and cleaner then a few weeks ago. Ducia receives 1 or 2 kibble of Tiki dry after AM injection - could chewing it help a bit with the lower teeth? No painful reaction to checking her legs muscles, good muscle layer on her belly. There was no murmur in her heart today. We could not check the respiratory rate properly as she was agitated with all of the fuss. I still think she breathes faster than yesterday.

I think we will proceed with observation for now. Hopefully she eats tomorrow. Please keep sending vines and prayers.

DH see the limp but says that it is her right legs not left which were damaged when she was overweight years ago. So @Nan & Amber
and
@Kris & Teasel suggestion that it could be unlucky landing got another voice at home.

Hubby only now told me that last night he caught Ducia pulling huge bone of lamb out of trash bean. She was licking her lips when he found her and the bone was on the floor @kitchen. There were very little meat left on it but she could chew some and could licked the bone. I cooked pilaf last night and used turmeric, cumin, garlic and thyme. Any of these I think could have caused her lack of appy this AM. She ate ok @night at +3 and +4, though, so IDK.

Thank you all so much for support and ideas!:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I would like to hire your DH to check over my kitties. :D Hope she keeps eating. I don't think garlic is good for them, but hopefully if that's the problem, she only got a tiny bit. Continued vines and prayers coming your way! :bighug:

I found Chino limping one morning and took him to the vet. He gets these growths on one or two of his "fingers" and one had broken and was dangling, causing pain when he stepped on that foot. The vet cut it off and that resolved the issue. I hope Ducia's problem is something equally benign.

10 hours since a little (next to none) Mirtazapine went into Ducia but she still is so unusually vocal about foods.. I cannot believe it's her! And, surely, now she keeps checking the kitchen's trash bin for that yummy bone she got from out of there last night:rolleyes:.
I really hope she keeps the appy for tomorrow.
It was Ducia's first dose of Mirt ever.
The limp is lighter now than it was in the AM but is still there:(.

Maybe food and rest will help things get sorted out.

Does eating biscotti help clean your teeth? NO!

Neither garlic nor cooked bone are good for cats. Garclic can cause upset tummy. Can I come over to your place for dinner? :)

If you can get the transdermal version of Mirtz, it greatly reduces the side effects. Unfortunately no one here has it.:(
