I gave Casey her first shot of Lantus tonight at 7pm, .5u (instead of the prescribed 1u, I was nervous about starting her too high). I understand that her shed needs to be filled before I see her numbers going down. That said, is the drop from her PMPS: 324 dropping to +3: 235 a good sign? I will be testing her +6 at 1am (CST).

Welcome to Lantus Land and awesome job on your first shot and the testing. That was a nice drop at your +3 - not too crazy but decent movement. I hope the +6 is even better.

Congratulations on your first shot!
(I was terrified giving my first shot!)

I don't see a problem with starting at .5u, particularly of you are nervous.

You are doing great!

Yes Roberta, it is a very good sign.
It is a great sign. And it's a sign that .5 was the right choice.
Your 1am is my 11pm so if your up to it post the number and I'll be here. I'll come back just to see.
Lookin good!
Lori

Thank you for the responses and encouragement!!

I too hope the +6 is even better. lol Earlier I was thinking I may have trouble waking up to test her +6, but now I am so excited I think I will have trouble falling asleep.

I will add the +6 to this thread when the results are in.

You bet I'll be posting it, can hardly wait to see what numbers she will produce.

See ya at 1am.
You do have your hypo food ready right?
Not that I'm even thinking hypo at all, but now that your shooting....it's a very good thing to have.

Yes, Lori, I do. We keep our syrup in the fridge and I have a bag labeled "Casey's HYPO Kit" in the cabinet containing high carb can food, high carb treats, a needles syringe, and the animal ER broucher (folded so the phone # is the stands out).

You are sooooo on track Roberta! I am really expecting great things for you and Casey. :-D

Hi ! I just wanted to say congrats on your first shot, and welcome to LL! Good job tonight - and yes - the drop is a very good sign. You are well prepared - Casey is lucky to have you. I look forward to watching her progress! :-D

Bummer.... her +6: 263 ...I don't idk....I did not take the time to spray the "no stress" 5 min before testing and she got really riled up, where I had to try to hold her still while my brother collected the blood...I hope that is the only reason it rose... :YMSIGH:

Hey Roberta, she's building a shed so I would rather see this than a big old dip. Slow and go, ok, slow and go.
Sleep well dear Roberta.
