Rose is just getting started on an extended course of ABs. The package insert for Orbax says to avoid supplements with bi / trivalent cations within 2 hours of the once daily dose. My AP Chemistry was 30+ years ago, so I'm a little challenged here, but I think this means no phos binders within 2 hours of AB so her routine just got a bit more complicated. Rose really likes her food, but she also really likes her schedule, so this has put a kink in things as I try to figure out how to avoid food for a 4 hour block of time in the middle of the day
I could give her a snack without the binder, but that just seems wrong while her phos is still too high. Whatever the infection is that she has been fighting seems to impact her kidney values, so I want to be extra careful.
I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things. I have spent the last 2 days getting ready for our next road trip. I expect to head out tomorrow for Northern Wisconsin. It is about 5 hours with 4 cats so it should be fun, but if I leave tomorrow I can avoid some of the fun associated with weekend traffic.
Sending extra hugs, vines, and hope to those in need.
