Champ had a really good day yesterday, all greens and a couple blues. Because I knew I was going to be away from the house for a few hours during the day to go up the mountain to feed my sisters critters and for a few hours at night to go out to dinner with an old high school friend, I decided to take out an extra drop from both shots yesterday, basically just taking out the "fat" part of the dose so he's now on a straight 2.5u. I'm hoping this doesn't affect his numbers, but I think I'll know today since his shed will have adjusted.

Well, I had a great weekend hanging out with old friends from high school. It's amazing how it seems like I just saw them yesterday when, in fact, for most it had been 32 years!!! Yikes!!!

I fed Champ his +1 meal a little late and then fed him his +2 on time. I forgot to check his BG before he ate so just now went back and it's a 35!!!! Which means he now has to eat even more food!! Good thing he's a porker!!

At 35 I'd be offering a bit of karo or honey...food might take too long

Hi Blue!! Thanks for the advice. Right now, Champ is giving himself a bath and looks quite content and happy. I'm keeping an eye on him and will be checking his BG in just a couple minutes to make sure it's gone up. If it's slow to rise, I'll for sure give him a drop of Karo to help pull him up.

I sure hope he is coming up he is way too early in the cycle to be this low.

I'll be looking for his numbers...anything below 40 is really nothing to fool around with...

It will trigger the liver hormones and bounce...that is not what you want.

He's come up 15 points in 20 minutes. I'll continue checking every 15 minutes to a half hour.

If Champ is still rising in 15 you are probably clear and the hormones have kicked in for a good hard bounce.

Up to 61 now. He was given a heaping spoon of MC 13% at +2.5. He's gotten into the low 30's a couple times before and he's always stayed green for the rest of the cycle with just a high yellow or low pink as the next PS BG and then right back down to normal numbers. Because of that, I'm not going to assume he's okay now and I'll keep checking him every half hour for a little bit longer. Champ has never been one to be predictable!!

Good, I'm happy to read you know your cat very well. Yes, if that is the case I'd be checking too. Hopefully he will surf here for you today.

I've been able to get him to surf pretty good by just giving him a little 13% when he dips below 60. I tell ya, trying to work and testing every 15-30 minutes is for the birds!!! I'm already exhausted and I still have a crapload of work to do. I've got to get to the store, too, because I only have one can of 13% left!!! I'm finally going to have used up all the food Champ used to eat before FD. Kind of a bittersweet moment. :?

GREAT job this morning. Looks like the shave didn't bother him at all. What a nice surf he has going!

Glad you had such an awesome time. You deserve it. Hope you can at least nap for a few today!

I think his 211 at PMPS is a pretty great number considering that 35 this morning!!! I shaved his dose from 2.50 to a skinny 2.50. I just took out a full drop. I don't want to reduce him too quickly and I had already shaved him from a fat 2.50 to straight 2.50 yesterday morning. My DD leaves early tomorrow morning for Texas to visit her grandparents so I'll have to struggle along by myself for a week and a half. I'm a little scared. If it weren't for her, I don't know how I would have made it through some of these nights where she stayed up for me to test so I could get some sleep. This might be a struggle. Wish me luck!!!

Our boys have never been good at subtlety! Glad he recovered so nicely for you. Nice job steering those numbers, lady!

35???? :shock: :shock: wow - quite the morning you have had... and I missed it!!! nice with the 211, not a huge bounce - good job Champ.. I hope he does well tonight - nice even surf. Not too low tough Champ, OK? Good luck too with the new dose. I hope he settles into it soon. and I will wish you luck when your DD is gone... it can be hard, though we learn how to adjust... my DH can't test, so I am on my own, know how it is. You'll do just fine.

I was going to say to drop dose again, but I saw in your SS you already did--A 35 number would usually call for a full 0.25 reduction, but see how this shave works with Champ--Also you could check with dosing helpers-Sienne, Libby, Miriam, to see what they think--
I am the only one who cares for Moonie --DH kinda knows how to test, but hasnt in ages-So it's all me--
