Awww, poor girl!
I'm not sure if the better strategy is to wait and see, or shoot the # down really fast before it can stretch into anything worse. There may not be any one strategy that is best. You may want to post in a couple other forums also where their might be more people with that kind of experience - I think there are a few around here. I would probably cross post in Health and Honeymooners (or whatever it's called). I vaguely remember some Think Tank thread too on strategies for stuff like that, so you might want to peek in over there too and see if you see anything useful.
When Bix had dental, he had a nice # too at the vets, like 140 or something (and no insulin that day), but he was in the 200s the next day, and I had to increase his insulin quite a bit for a few days after. I don't know if it was a delayed stress reaction, or maybe a reaction to all the meds he was on? I thought his #s would come down with the antibiotics, but it seemed to go the other way for us. The vet thought it was probably because he felt cr*ppy for a few days (he had several teeth out).
Anyhow, hopefully that won't be the case with her, but just wanted to mention it so you won't be surprised if you do see higher #s.
Hope she is feeling better soon! & hopefully even if she does need some insulin, it will just be for a brief spell...
