What a nice day yesterday for Mannie - a slow slidage down to a green cycle last night. We had a slight bump at pmps, but the boy did it: green. We are a sunny yellow this morning, which may be agood thing, as this bean is off to go , and with a number in the yellow I feel better leaving him for the day. DH will be home to watch him, and feed it Mannie indicates that he needs it. Be good Mannie.... and please give me my permission slip.... we will wait for the +2 to make sure all is well before taking off.... lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand today. We had a good test feed shoot, his clean plate club status remains intact. :cool: :razz: And YAY!: the civvie whacking as back. BJ was whacking everybody - guess she wanted her fuds like yesterday. :lol: Funny though - she comes up to Mannie, paw raises, only to be met with that icy cold stare that Mannie does. That was an immediate about-face. Best not mess with the Manster when fuds are on the line.... :lol: :lol: The kitty choir was only half-hearted this morning: only BJ showed up. Sheshhhhh... who needs the others when she is the leader. I was so fortunate to receive ear piercing bellows in my ear, razor sharp claws on the shoulder, wet cold nose on my cheek. All right already - I'm up! :roll: :roll: The other two were already camped out by their bowls, waiting patiently... good kitties! It is a nice cool sunny morning here today. Already Mannie and Elsa are waiting for to door to open.... soon kitties.... in the meantime: nanner napping to do - at least for Mannie. yep, life is good!

Have a great day everyone. I am off shortly to go hiking - a river hike by Stevens Pass... It's a new one for me, and I hope a good one. I hope to be back by Mannie's +10/11. paws crossed.... :razz:

My friends!!! What a day yesterday - we went sailing and had such a great time! The cookout on the boat was so so cool. What shall we do today? maybe some dunes sliding, or dune buggys? What'd'ya guys think? Or maybe a beach cookout? Let me knows... I am ready for anything! ~~ Mannie

Hi Michelle, looks like you have that permission slip to go hiking. It sounds marvelous and do enjoy yourself and pictures, pictures, please! Looks like an exciting day yesterday and last night with Mannie's numbers. How exciting with the new computer. Is it a desktop or laptop? I have a Toshiba laptop which I love but use it as a desktop, as it's a little heavy to be mobile.

Hey Mannie, pretty early here yet, but I am always up for a beach cookout, as my appetite is poor this morning, yuck, I'm so tired of all that lo carb fuds. I need some real burgers and fish fries, see ya later as soon as other sleepyheads get up, Maggie

These numbers would be more disturbing if you didn't have somewhere you wanted to be!!! Now you can just chalk this up to Mannie just being cooperative and wanting you to be able to go on your hike!! :lol: :lol:

Love that Mannie has the death stare down. I'd love to see what happens if BJ decided to still whack him! :lol:

that's right folks... a 429! :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad: ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile did I ever misjudge this one.... I expect I probably could have gotten by with regular LC,, but darn it: who knew.... I HATE THAT COLOR!! Mannie on the other hand feels great - been a good day outside for him, normal stuff... YAY for that, downer on the number. well it can only get better for the rest of the day. :cool: :-D

Interesting hike: omg! So much tree-falls - the climbing mt everet variety.. and the overgrowth!! i wish I'd brought my machete, and the creeks: way way to many to ford. I did great with the little ones until I hit that "river" at 1.5 miles in... 25 feet wide, and foot or two deep, several cascading falls within, no rocks or logs to walk on.... needless to say that aborted the hike. The creek was way too fast and full for a safe crossing... what i did see though was beautiful - lots to explore with the first mile and a half. I wish I'd made the meadow that was a mile further, and my destination. maybe next time, when we are done with all the snow melt! :cool: :lol:

Hi Ann and Maggie - Yep, got the permission slip - I just wish he hadn't given me such a good one - a 429!! omg!! arrggghhhhhhhhhh! I did have a good time though despite the obstacles I ran into. There was a very nice area that allowed access to the creek, so I explored that as much as I could. beautiful! and yes on the photos! I need to add the camera stuff to the new computer though before I can do that - hopefully there will be time tonight. :razz: I bought a desktop, with as much spped and storage that I could find - mainly for all the photo stuff I do. Bought a Dell XPS 8300. so far it is wonderful.

Hi Marje - oh bounce he did... and I helped him along with some 7% ohmygod_smile just cuz you never know with him, and I was gone all day.... sheshhhh! a 429. can I bury my head in the sand? And Thanks - it was an interesting hike... details above. I had a good time though, and may consider going back when all the snow melt stuff is over and done with... and yeah on the wakeup call. BJ does a good job - I never oversleep when she is on duty. :lol: :lol:

Mannie, puleeeezzze come down! Michelle, it could have been a fur shot as we all do it, some of us (me) more than others, not to worry! Maybe it was the higher carbs he had before you left today. He will come down.

Michelle....I vote for fur shot....it was early....you never know but Mannie doesn't bounce this high. I bet he will come down tonight. This is so quick that it doesn't affect him.

Hi Michelle, I vote for the fur shot, too! And, as you know, we are familiar with fur shots around here!! Mannie will come down tonight, no fear. In the meantime, he's feeling good, so don't worry (too much)!
Your hike sounded really challenging. I'm glad you didn't try to cross the wide part of the fast-moving river. That could have been risky. Later in the summer you ought to do this hike again so you can get to the other side!!!

Your new computer sounds really neat. Blazing fast, huh? Enjoy.

Oh my goodness!!! I haven't been able to check out condos much today and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your post. Mannie boy, you have got to come down immediately. Aren't you afraid of heights?

Michelle, it really seems like he got a fur shot so I'm sure Mannie will be back to his usual numbers tomorrow.

Hi Bruce - I am guess that I did give one - just no other explanation. He just does not post numbers like these... Hopefully the PM cycle will be better.

Hey CD - thanks, and I know... it's just one cycle. I have said that to so many others over the past couple of years. It is true, and I hope the PM cycle will be better.And yes - he does feel good, doing normal Mannie things... like nanner sleeping! :cool: :lol:

Hi Ann, and Maggie - do you believe this??? I did carb higher than normal, but only a 7%, and only at regular feedings... so - I am inclined to think fur shot? I just don't know. Mannie is so easy to shoot - never ever flinches, and I can see where I am shooting... oh well, guess it doesn't matter - it's only one shot and I hope the rest of the night will be better.

Hey Marje - me too-it's really the only thing that makes sense... he seems fine otherwise. I hop0e he can at least get to the yellows tonight... -- and yes, I do hike alone. for the most part. It's hard to find hiking people to work around Mannie's schedule.. and I am always taking of on a moments notice when I know I have a permission slip from the Nanner King. It is hard to find people that will work with that. so - I go alone, and really don't mind it. I'm careful, play by the rules, and know, like today, when to turn back.

Hi Ella - i think so too... though I was certain I didn't... but ya know at 4:30AM anything is possible... including fur shots. and so agreed on the hike today - I just felt it was riskier than I wanted to be. So we will try later, maybe in the fall.There were alot of trees and plants there that will have tremendous fall color. so... we will wait... -- and yes on the 'puter - WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! blazing fast - omg. I used to struggle with photo uploads. Today's from the hike was done in a minute tops. Awesome!

Michelle, I thought it was a typo!! At least the Lantus is doing its job. But a cycle like that one can really shake you up. Good luck on getting to the lower levels.
