Just found out that Karamelle has Pancreatitis. Not surprising given her symptoms. She must be in an acute flare at the moment. Ive called to request additional meds that I know work better for panc. I believe Karamelle is my 11th cat with Pancreatitis. They all had other illnesses and have since passed except for my cat Hershey, who only had one acute flare of Pancreatitis and tested negative for it recently. He had CKD now and liver disease.
 
Sorry to hear the diagnosis. :bighug:. Not a rat after all? At least you know how to treat p'titis.

I hope she's continuing to improve today, better meds will help.

No, I think eating the rat caused the Pancreatitis. I had that happen with one of my other cats. Not a rat, but I was making raw food myself at one point and it was the first time I was making it. I was cutting the meat into chunks and mixing them with the liquidy supplement. But I was serving it right away and the juice wasnt absorbed into the meat yet. I didnt find out till a few days had passed that Hershey was licking up all the supplement and leaving the meat chunks for someone else. All that supplement made him sick. He was just like Karamelle. so sick and wouldnt eat. I was doing syringe feeding, fluids and lots of meds. He got over it in about a week.
