Morning,

What a weekend, the wedding we went to was great! it felt good to get away for the day! until the engine light came on on the way home, Saturday afternoon, no mechanics available, and DH is a carpenter not a mechanic!

I had a freind stop by and feed saturday night as we wouldn't be home in time with truck trouble...and then had to call her back to do sunday morning feeding as we were still stuck...

We made it home by 3 sunday afternoon, I was a nervous wreck, I knew he had food, but no insulin...his numbers are ok, a little high, but not drastically.
I felt so bad, I stayed home yesterday and babied him all day, and his brother too!

I know I need a better back up plan, til then, no matter what, no more day trips without a better plan.

Hope everyone had a pleasant weekend.

and Sienne I will check into the Tablet option, good idea! Thanks!

Hi guys .. oh no! I hate car troubles! I hope whatever it is, can easily (and cheaply!) be fixed .. I'm sure junior and his brother forgave you, once they got their much needed babying :-D have a great day!

Don't beat yourself up. You can't anticipate a problem with your car any more than you can anticipate the weather causing a flight to be cancelled.

Thanks for helping me understand some things can't be helped, I was so scared the whole night and the whole way home, but he seems better this morning, and aftyer being babied yesterday, I think it will be ok.
and I will be looking into a Tablet, and looking for someone for emergencies for testing and shots.

and I am looking at the first weekend in August for an increase, I will be home 4 days, no trips, just family visiting, hopefully not to much stress.

increase .25 ??? on 8/3/12 AM shot.

It's way too far in advance to be able to know where Junior's numbers will take you. Remember, it's Junior who's leading in the sugar dance!!

FWIW, I have a vet tech who pet sits for my guys. My arrangement with her is that I let her know if I'm stuck somewhere. Likewise, I let her know when i get home. That way, I know Gabby will get her shot. I also have friends who have keys and who know Gabby. They're not entirely comfortable with shooting but at least the kitties will get fed and litter boxes cleaned if I'm delayed and my petsitter isn't available.

I keep forgetting who is in charge in this dance!

Junior!!!! That's who!

will wait on his numbers, it is 2 weeks away!

My friend has no problems feeding anytime I want, and she doesn't mind the litter box either, especially the Breeze system, she liked that!, it is the needle, and the testing. and the distance I live from town adds on to the expense of the Vet Tech coming to the house, BUT, it will be worth having someone lined up in case...I can't handle the stress!!!!!

you don't let them shoot if they don't test. correct? my friend said she would learn to shoot, but wasn't keen on the testing part...

life goes on, and we will handle it!
