You can always leave extra food out. If you don't already have one, you may want to think about getting a timed feeder for days when you're going to be gone. Alternatively, you can make "catsickles." (You add sufficient water to Harley's food to make it soupy and then freeze in portions. I've used ice cube trays. You can then put a few out to defrost. That way, the food stays fresh -- unless you have a cat like mine who will lick the frozen food as soon as I put it out.)

Problem I have is a multi cat household, so I can't guarantee that he will get it and I've tried putting him up for short periods while I run an errand and they/he gets very stressed
I did get a slightly higher carb wet food, the one I feed now is 4 carbs I got one with both 6 and 8 carbs...and one at 11 for an emergency. Should I give him a snack of a higher carb wet food before I head out? I am going to be a couple hours away for several hours and I am going to worry
I have contemplated getting three different ones and timing it a few minutes apart so they each eat something....oh the life we bend around our animals

I would wait and see what your early test numbers look like. If Harley's numbers are dropping at +2, then I would make sure he eats some higher carb food before you leave and then leave out more for all of the kitties.
FWIW, 11% is what we look at as a medium carb food. Under 10% is LC and over 15% is HC.

Oh!!! Okay, good to know...problem is he hasn't eaten this new flavor---same brand---but I am worried if he gets sick then he could really plumment I do have a few HC kitty crunchies I could give him? Harley unfortunately isn't a grazer, he inhales food...
at +2.5 hes 196
