Champ is still on his rollercoaster ride. He had a nasty 348 to start his evening cycle, but then slid down to 78 by +6. I had to get some sleep, though, so I just gave him a tbsp of 13% and went to bed. He woke me up at 5:30 this morning trying to get me to feed him early, but I had to tell him, "You are on a diet. No extra food!!" and he finally curled up next to me in bed (which he never does anymore!) and went to sleep until 6:20 when it was time for his test feed shoot. And he finally gives me a blue preshot number which we haven't had in a while!!

I decided not to go out last night. Because of Champ's habit of sliding down into low numbers, no matter how high he starts out, I just didn't want to have to worry about him all night. By the time my daughter got home from work at 10:30, I was just too tired to go out. Tony (my high school boyfriend and my daughter's godfather) is taking my daughter to the movies tonight after she gets off work (I have to be home to shoot the cat) which I think is really sweet!! If Champ's numbers let me, I'll meet them for dinner afterward.

Hi Patty. I hope you get to join your daughter and her godfather tonight. It sounds like it would be nice. I see Champ is still sliding around ohmygod_smile I think he really likes the lower numbers, though because he always goes back to them. Hope you have a nice evening.

i wonder if his sliding around is related to you feeding/not feeding him - even if it's not within 2 hours of his shot. punkin's numbers improved when i stopped giving him more than a bite (literally 1 tsp) of chicken after +3.

Hi Champ....Hadn't seen ya in awhile buddy. I here ya on the weight loss plan your bean put ya on.....My bean has me on one too....Hates it....but I duz feel better and a bit lighter. I get the cosequin too....not sure if it is doing its job....but I move faster and jump higher now....ummmm, sounds like a Ked's tennis shoe commercial. Take care. I'm very glad Champ has decided to cooperate with his numbers again. However, whywhywhy does he pick a night that 1) is a work night, and 2) I'm going out to dinner and will be away from home for about three hours. Geez...I know I'm going to worry the whole time, even though I plan to carb him with some 13% before I leave.

Thanks Marje!! I'll be honest...I just gave Champ half a tsp of 13% because I wanted him up more before I leave and I'm leaving at his +2. I'll probably give him a little more before I leave, too...just to be on the safe side!! I'd rather have a high numbers night (and maybe tomorrow) than a comatose kitty when I get home!!

wow - what a great day for Champ - WONDERFUL NUMBERS!!! Look at all those blues and greens - Champ you did good!

I am a person who likes my kitty to be safe when I leave for long periods of time, so maybe a auto feeder would help so you know there's food for him?--Have a great night!
 
I ended up leaving out about 1 oz. of 13%. I was only gone for two hours and I was sure he would be high when I got home, but he actually was lower by a couple points than when I left. I thought it was going to have been a mistake to leave so much food, but it looks like it was a good thing. And he didn't eat it all so maybe Champ has learned portion control!!! :lol: I threw away what was left because he doesn't need any more carbs for now. The DD is going to stay up for a bit to keep an eye on his numbers so I can go to sleep now. I've got a busy day at work tomorrow!!
