I'm so ready to strangle my local Walmart. About to tell them where they can take their store policy and shove it where the sun don't shine. Autumn has an unlimited script for her thyroid meds but since she takes a teeny tiny dose I don't refill her script very often (about once every 4-6months). Well with the move I spaced she was getting low until Sunday morning when I gave her, her last half a pill. Okay no biggie I'll refill on Monday morning. Yeah right!! Apparently Walmart knows better than my vet. They are refusing to refill until they can personally speak to the prescribing vet. Well cupcake that would work if the prescribing vet wasn't in Hawaii atm enjoying the first vacation since she opened the practice 15 years ago!! So I asked if speaking with one of the other vets at the practice would be sufficient? Nope it has to be the one that wrote the script because cats can't be HYPOTHYROID only HYPERTHYROID!! Huh? Funny I don't see anything saying anyone behind this counter has a doctorate in veterinary medicine.

Then I tried to get just a bag of 10 syringes to get me to today when my order from ADW gets here. Nope they can't do that either...oh they would be happy to sell me a full box but not a single package because Autumn doesn't have a current insulin script on file. No kidding genius I don't buy her insulin from you anymore but if you go back in your files you'll find out she did. Nope not happening that would require work on their part.

So come back home, call the clinic explain the problem...God Bless Sam, she calls her mom in Hawaii gets her to call the mental midgets at Walmart, tell them yes Autumn is not hyperthyroid but in fact hypothyroid. Back to Walmart only to be told they are currently back ordered on her thyroid meds and it will be until Friday before they have more in. Well can you call another local pharmacy for me to fill her script ...nope against store policy. Gonna shoot someone. So until Friday I'm gonna lose control of both her thyroid and her BGs. Yeah I could just have Sam write me a new script and take it somewhere else except they are already paid for through Walmart by my vet as part of my payment for caring for Cali and caring for her critters while she's on vacation. We are basically trading services. I'm exercising her horses and feeding her critters as well as testing and shooting her personal diabetic cat and dog in exchange for free vet care.

Jeez-o-Flip - I sooooo hate Walmart!!! I wish we weren't so reliant on them for affordable supplies and meds. Poor Autumn - she's gonna be so mixed up and they don't seem to care because it's all about policy!! How about a policy that says you have to have more than one box of testing strips in their inventory at all times so diabetics don't have to run from store to store looking for necessary medical supplies.

Alska was at 340 last night... a rather large bounce for him. Now I know why.

I hear ya. If I could never shop there again I would. Poor baby was doing so well and now she's gone nuts again. I finally had everything balanced on a razors edge. Can't regulate her insulin without balancing her thyroid. Thyroid out of whack throws her appetite out of whack she can't use the insulin right so she's cranky and starving. Argggggh

That is so frustrating! The more horror stories I hear about Walmart, the more I realize how much I lucked out with my Walmart and pharmacist. A few months back, I went in to buy a new Levemir pen and didn't realize Mikey's prescription had run out. The pharmacist asked me how much I had left and I said maybe a shot or two. He said, "no problem. I'll sell it to you now and get your script updated whenever I hear back from the vet." Mind you, this is the individual pens at the $25 discount price, too. :-D

BTW, Robin, your spreadsheet linked in your sig says it's in your trash??

Yeah KPassa I know... there's nothing I can do about it. I go to my trash to get it back and it isn't there. I've done everything that Google advised but it doesn't seem to work. I've made a copy of it - I just have to figure out how to replace it here.

That's the exact reason both Cassanova and Autumn's only go back a few months. I accidentally deleted them while cleaning out my docs. So just started new ones for both then linked them like any other website link.

yeah except hard to do on a phone and I had to get rid of home internet service :(

Iphone or droid? If droid I can tell you how to do it. Because there's an app of that. Lol been using the phone for almost a year now. Faster than the comp.

Thanks Mel - I was able to do it on my work computer. I had to delete a bunch of stuff from home computer in order to update my GPS - Evidently I removed some things I should not have... Oh well... doesn't matter anymore since I am turning off internet at home. It is just tooooooo expensive. I use my Samsung GN3 to look at Forum and condos. What app do you use for the spreadsheet?

Its called just Google Sheets. Its awesome and free. Very simple to use
