Please start a new thread/condo with your info from today. You posted at the end of your Monday condo and the info is not visible on the Board.

Not sure what sort of info you have given in the past:

Random Notes...
Because of the cumulative nature of Lantus and Levemir:
An early shot = a dose increase.
A late shot = a dose reduction.

A "cycle" refers to the period of time between shots. There are 2 cycles in one day when shooting twice a day.

If you find you give a shot late or early, you can put YOUR clock time into the field with the dose you give, so where you put your .75 in the U column, you can also put 7:45am or whatever time of the shot. Then for the next shot, you could put .75 7:00pm if you shoot early or go back to some other time. This way, others will know exactly WHEN you gave a shot.

As far as giving a shot to a number that is 'low' for you, ALWAYS err small....
You can always give more insulin, but you can't take back too much.

Nobody wants to lose shed, but I would rather lose shed and lose cat. You can build up the shed again easy because you are at such a low dose, and because you are at such a low dose, it's even more important that you err on the lesser side.

I think you are doing a great job, so just keep in mind that if you have to leave and won't be around to test hourly, just shoot low or skip and be done with it.... call it a fur shot in your mind and make up for it on the next shot.

It would be great if you could set aside a couple cycles to do some full curves and try to pinpoint where Shadow's nadir is located. It looks around mid cycle but some curves will help you know better.

+0 - PreShot number.
+1 – Usually higher than PreShot number because of the last shot wearing off. May see a food spike in this number.
+2 - Often similar to the PreShot number.
+3 - Lower than the PreShot number, onset has started.
+4 - Lower.
+5 - Lower.
+6 – Nadir/Peak (the lowest number of cycle).
+7 - Surf (hang around the nadir number).
+8 - Slight rise.
+9 - Slight rise.
+10 - Rising.
+11 - Rising (may dip around +10 or +11).
+12 - PreShot number

ETA: to remove misleading wording as requested

I have to respectfully disagree about doing a full curve. You don't need to do it. We find spot checks to be more helpful. If you would like to do some kind of curve, checking every two hours is sufficient.

Nobody does curves where hourly tests are done; only when first starting the use of R will a person be advised to test hourly for the first 5 hours, and a full curve has never been known as hourly tests.

As you are new, the listing of the 12 hours is info that is given to new people to let them know how insulin most likely is affecting their cats so that when they do a 'full curve' which is usually ever 2 hours, or a 'mini curve' which is usually every 3 yours, they can compare their own test results to the possible 12hours of change in a cycle.

Full curves or mini curves should also not be done at the same + times; for example, if you test at +2 +4 +6 +8 +10 one day, another curve of your choice could be done but stagger your test times.... try to get away from always the same 3/6/9 and maybe try 4/8/11 or something.

Again, to repeat for new people, you would not need to test hourly; hourly is not and has not been ever considered as a full curve.

gayle, it would be helpful if you edit your post to remove the words, "How to do a curve". as written, you can see the confusion created and reason for marje's post.

+2 - Often similar to the PreShot number.
+3 - Lower than the PreShot number, onset has started.

+11 - Rising (may dip around +10 or +11).
+12 - PreShot number

thank you!
