That's a surprisingly challenging question to answer! It's not unusual to have to wait several cycles to see a response to a dose change -- the depot needs to catch up to the new dose. However, some cats do have an immediate respond and numbers drop. Sometimes, cats experience "new dose wonkiness" -- the numbers go up before they come down. The rise usually lasts only a cycle or two. For some cats, you can follow a dosing strategy religiously and not see much change in numbers until you hit the "right" dose and everything snaps into place.

I'd suggest looking at spreadsheets to get a feel for how other people's cats have reacted to a change in dose. It would be so much easier if our cats were predictable!

She is at the age of maybe needing one. Will she let you look? any tartar build up... red gums

it's one of the most common problems for FD.

And luckily her numbers aren't high up in the red and blacks.... that shows great potential.

The last time she had her check up her teeth were ok. When any of our cats go to the vet we have them look at their teeth and rate them 1-5 for gingivitis and tartar. 1 being the best. I don't have her paperwork but she was not in bad shape.
