I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day.

Another shot in the green. We are still at 1.0 unit. I found I am supposed to go out for several hours this morning at roughly +1.75. Okay to leave food out and go and then test upon return? It's something I really shouldn't cancel, but I can probably find a way.

Not bad! :woot:

Can you get a test at +1.5? Will he let you? If he is higher, he is headed up. If it's a drop, you may want to feed higher carb.
How long are you gone for?

I know. I'm impressed. I suppose the depot is still there. I am going to do a +1.5 for sure. When my partner is available we will do it together and hopefully that will make it easier when he's not. He still seems to respond to the Lancet only prick differently and I wonder if it hurts or if there is a way to do it more gently.

It will probably be for three or four hours. MC or HC?

Thank you!

His insulin depot will run out tomorrow or the next day and we'll see numbers that will be more true to how 1 unit affects him?

From 94 to 74 at +2

I'm guessing it's best to get a +3? Is there a number at which he needs MC? Because he started green today it seems like it isn't as steep of a drop?

Not sure if 74 @ +2 and 79 @ +4 is within the range of meter variance. Since he isn't going down I will leave some food out for him and then get another test when I get home. Hopefully he just cruises.

He seems to have caught on to us doubling up on him and he was considerably less happy this time. He still let the test happen.

I think this is the flattest he's been yet.

Yes, lovely AM cycle! :-)
Since you have limited testing opportunities, you can stop testing when he flattens out the way he did today. +4 was pretty flat from +2 and in safe green.

That's good to know. I am aware I need testing to fill in some of the hours information wise, but I figure it's best to wait until this particular displeasure with testing disappears. PMPS soon.

We're back on track so his PMPS is 95. I hope he's not saving a dramatic spike or drop for his PM cycle. What a good little fellow.

He is very unhappy about being tested again. My partner was not able to do it. It's one of the times I see him open his mouth in a bit of a pant/snarl. I am giving him some time and will try to do it alone like I did last night. I might use the pen, I'm not sure.

Okay. I would much rather get up every hour for the next bit and make sure he eats than poke his ear. When he gets to this point I think his stress level gets really high and it's better to call it a night. The fewer times I force it, the easier it will be when testing is necessary.

I don't even feel that stressed out yet. Think it's okay just to get his AMPS and feed?

Thanks, he's still pretty apprehensive so I am going to feed him and sleep. I'll make sure he has food throughout the night. I really wish I knew what flipped the switch with the testing. Part of it is that he only has so much patience (I was starting to think it was endless), but I wonder if something else is going on. It feels like I will need to solve this if I am going to be able to keep doing everything possible to get and keep him healthy.

I appreciate your guidance as always. Have a good day!
