DC had a pretty flat day yesterday.
BG's were between 265 & 275 all day.
This morning he is lying in his favorite spot enjoying the sun.
He's eating well and all P's are in place.
I just remembered something and I'm not sure if it could have a bit to do with the higher BG's also.
I switched the brand of syringes a couple weeks ago July 4th.
I've always used the BD brand and I switched to Relion. Is it possible the accuracy is not the same?
I will however go to the pharmacy and get a new cartridge of Lantus today.
So for the PM shot I will use a new cartridge.

Noreen: that's interesting you say that because Jill just told me she's been having problems with the Relions. She said the zero lines were off in many of them as much as (I believe she said) .25u. I'm not sur how that would relate to DC because he's getting such a small dose of insulin but....worth a try on a different syringe. Esp if you were using BDs. I might go back to that.....really good thought you had.

In the past, I've also noticed an inconsistency with the BD syringes.
Some days you give the dose and it seems like there is nothing in the syringe when you press the plunger.
You'd think there would be a little more accuracy on something so important.
I guess it's much more noticeable when micro-dosing though.

Re: 7/23 DC AMPS=248

Have you tried Monojects? I've used Relions and BDs and then, at Ann's suggestion, tried the MJs. LOVE them. And I believe they rated the highest on syringe accuracy.

I've never tried them. I'll have to check if they're available in Canada.
Thanks.

Re: 7/23 DC AMPS=248

You're welcome. I order them from American Diabetes Wholesale. They don't say half unit markings but the ones I get are. I usually order the short needle, 31g.

Re: 7/23 DC AMPS=248 +9=212 PMPS=274

I started a new vial of Lantus for the PM shot.
Hopefully it was the Lantus that was bad and the BG's will come down again.
If not, I have no idea what the issue is or where to go from here.
As far as the vet said everything is fine medically.
