Our Last Condo - 7/20

Hi all, I'm back! :-D Thanks to my wonderful friend, who was able to test Nikki while I was away. We were a bit all over the place on dosing and numbers to try and keep her safe, but I'm planning on starting back on the 2u tonight and seeing how she does.

Hope all of LL is healthy and well.

Hi Nikki. Glad to hear that all was well while you were away. Glad she was safe, and good luck with the 2u.

Hi Alexis! Hope you had a great trip!!! We had all kind of craziness going on her while you were away. Good luck with getting Nikki's numbers back where they belong!

I'm not sure yet how I feel about her numbers, I get worried she'll drop on me while I'm at work! nailbite_smile

It was so nice to be away from the craziness (and get a full night's sleep!) but I love my girls. Today I switched from a pellet litter to Swheat Scoop and found Nikki curled up in her litter and picking up pieces in her mouth and then spitting them out. :lol: She's so nutty! :roll:

Tell me about it! I think I will have to come home every day this week about 10:45 like I did today. By 11:00 this morning he was 40. :o :shock: :o I think if he had been on canned from the start, we wouldn't have had to go all the way up to 5 units of prozinc and 4.25 units of Lantus. I would be on a more reasonable dose. I think that's why he's going so low. His dose is too high for him being on a low carb diet.

SO you feed Nikki raw food right? Only 3 TBS twice a day? Is that because it is raw and she doesn't need any more than that? Bob really doesn't eat much food and it makes me nervous!

Did your pet sitter have any issues at all?

Right now I'm attempting to switch from the raw (which is 10% carb) to food that is 5% and under. I'm pretty much mixing half and half at this point, so she gets about 2 tbs raw and 2 tbs canned per meal, with a catsicle or two for during the day. Nikki would eat WAY more than that a day but that's how she got fat in the first place. :-D She was almost 18lbs last fall and is about 10.5 lbs now. I'd like to see her around 11lbs but no more so I give her less cals per day than she really needs. The raw is higher calorie though, a cup is over 600 cals! :shock:

She's been more active since Dee showed up, which is good for her too. She's been a little runny since giving her more canned food, so I'm going to take it easy for a while yet.

Part of him eating less may be that there is more water in canned food. He may just feel more full from that! Hopefully he'll eat a bit more as he gets more used to the canned food.

I wish I could come home mid-day! It's about an hour round-trip for me to get home from the city and back to work, so it's impossible. :-| It's why I'm a bit more conservative with her dose. I get so anxious about her some days!
