I just gave Max a little First Mate chicken. He ate it and was last seen grooming. Now we see how he reacts and if he continues to eat it.
 
Anyone ever try Life's Abundance cat food? It's supposedly 2.58% carbs and 1.2 phosphorus dry matter.
 
If you mean the Life's Abundance canned, it's supposed to be good....just pricey (but aren't they all?)

Glad he ate and even more glad that he groomed! Keep at it Mr. Max.

Elise, I used to feed Life's Abundance dry as a supplement. Years ago. Many years ago. The brand comes highly recommended by someone I respect. She used to own the local independent pet store and specialized in nutrition. That's all I know.

Another new one I haven't heard of. Must do some investigating. We're down to three flavors right now that Her Royal Highness will eat (sometimes).

Max is looking good today, and how lovely that he is eating. :D
 
I read about it on Tanya's. A vet is selling it and Marilyn is right that it's pricy. I had price tag shock when I bought the foods the other day. They are as bad as Mauri and some were higher. I didn't look for larger cans though. Far cry from ff and Friskies.
 
BFD (before feline diabetes) I had been feeding my crew the dry Life's Abundance for years thinking I was doing the best I could for them. Even though it was expensive, I'd heard great things about it too and my own experience was the same....my cats did very well on it....until FD showed up at my door

I do have to say now though, that my civvies eat Friskies and they look better than they ever did on LA and both lost much needed weight

We live and learn ;)
 
It's the canned I was looking at as I look for low phosphorus low carb. So far they are all so expensive. I'd like at least a couple that compare to ff. :banghead:

I had to go back and look at some old emails.... I heard of that Life's abundance back in 2013 ...
it was recommended by the owner of Young Again .... ( because of df Melanie ( and Ninja)- the one that went otj on dry YA food.
I can't delete her emails yet. ( she died in Jan)

I'll have to see if Shadow will eat that.
she always likes new foods, at least the first can.

Max had a coupe spoons of First Mate today as well.
