Marvin gave me a nice green to start the day. No shot this morning. I guess I did the drop correctly or he is starting to manage on his own. He is purring happily.
Marvin on experimental drug for Acromegaly. If working like a charm. I am amazed too...Wow! I just glanced at your ss. Remarkable change in such a short time to go from 6 units to a drop. Congrats!

I sent you a message with copy of part of the email from RVC talking about dosing. If you do decide to try please let me know, would be nice to see how it ends up working on Chino.Marvin's progress is truly amazing! What dose is he on? Though I know his results aren't typical, I'm thinking about asking Chino's vet to try the same thing.
Needless to say, I am THRILLED by how well carbergoline is working. Even if it only helps a percentage of kitties, it is so much cheaper/easier than any other treatments on offer for acromegaly. Makes it feasible for many others. And if you consider the cost of insulin, syringes, test strips and lancets, might even break out even. Most important will be to see what it does to reduce the effects of the growth hormone and IGF-1.Marvin on experimental drug for Acromegaly. If working like a charm. I am amazed too.

Unfortunately I didn't see this till much later, ended up giving both Marvin and I a break from the poking. Gave him a drop pmps.Again, a mid cycle test of some sort might be interesting, maybe theee hours or more after food, when his pancreas has had enough time to handle his breakfast.
Sorry, I couldn't understand the description. What is the flow? Floor? What do you mean moves like a little knock?I just took Marvin's BG, and put him on the flow, he is breathing weird, mouthopen and his body kinda moves like a little knock
sorry was typing fast, yes I ment put him on the floor, when he was breathing, his chest was going in an out but like someone was giving him a small push or knock to the side (like a little bump).Sorry, I couldn't understand the description. that what I was concerned about, I know he has a heart murmur as it was one of the Acro symptoms he had. I counted about 25/minute just now.Ever since Neko had heart issues, I am paranoid about breathing. Heart issues are something acros can get. Might be worth a discussion with the vet. One thing you can do is measure the number of breaths he does per minutes at rest or relaxed/sleeping. It should be under 30. Count the complete in an out breath as a single breath. That is called the respiration rate or RR.
