A few weeks ago, I noticed Lucy's front paws carpal pads were looking very hard and dry, kind of dead, so I wriggled them but if didn't bother her except the usual "Don't touch my paws!".
I was going to bring it up during the next vet appointment, but I didn't worry about them much.
Yesterday, I found this on the sofa after she jumped on it.
At first I didn't know what it was, thought spilled food or something, so I threw it away.
An hour later, it bothered me that I felt like I had seen it somewhere, so I fished it out of the garbage bin, and looked closer.
You can imagine how shocked I was when I realized where I had seen it ..... on Lucy's front paw!!!!
I quickly checked her paws, expecting to see one of them missing a carpal pad and maybe even bloody, but both were intact and no blood.
One of them looked dry and dead, and the other one looked pinker and softer and much smaller........
I was really really surprised!
Is it normal for them to sort of shed old carpal pad skins, and new one growing inside???
Lucy is feeling good.
She ate her first breakfast by herself.
Nice AMPS number too!
Hope everyone's having a nice Monday!!!!
