Ok..started out this morning with a 309 on his AMPS...lowered his food from 3/4 can to 1/2 can to share with Pumpkin...at his 6 hour his blood sugar was 82...so I fed him again another 1/2 can. I think I was feeding him too much at a time, and he needs to cut back to 1/2 can every 6 hours. I think we will see better control. I will test again in 3 hours to see what it did after eating 1/2 can.

Am I doing right?

Looking good so far. Yes too much food can be a problem. All of mine eat 4 times daily but each meal is a quarter can per cat per meal with the exception of my large maine coon mixes. They get about a can and a half total for the day.

Ok but now I found out that he vomited it back up. He reate some of the food..but I am going to check him here at 4:00.

OK evening PM was 116...very good now that I have reduced his food to 1/2 can every six hours.

I will check again at +4 and +6...feeding him again at 2:00 AM.

Let's see how it goes.

Matching up the insulin with the food can be tricky sometimes, until you figure out the right amount for your cat.

How much does he weigh? And how much should he weigh? Slight increases and decreases of food, or feeding a smidge more when he's heading in to nadir can be helpful for some cats. You'll figure it out.

If he's a scarfer, it can help to spread the food thinly on a plate to slow him down, or put a heavy mug upside down in the center of the plate that he has to work around to eat.

For comparison, I put down 4 cans of 13 ounces for 15 cats per feeding. Works out to a bit over 3 ounces per cat. Mostly, they seem to be at good weights.

Thank you BJ. Kitty boo weighs right at 12 pounds. He was eating the 5.5 oz can two times a day...I changed and I am now giving him a half can a little less than 3 oz 4 times a day, so he is still getting 2 full cans or 11 oz a day.
