This was a new vet for me, same office tho. I really liked her and she might be my new vet. She prescribed pain meds for both Karamelle and Oscar. Also Metronidazole for Karamelle's diarrhea. She still isnt eating yet but Oscar ate a little when we got home from the vet. Im getting pretty good at syringe feeding. Karamelle is so funny. She makes complainy growly noises everytime i squirt some in her mouth but then swallows it. I took a video of it but its on my phone. I dont think I can post it here.

How long is the Metronidazole prescription for? Not a huge fan of it as it can further disrupt the GI system. Have you tried s. boullardi with Karamelle?

Ive honestly never had any luck with just s. boulardii. not sure why. But Im also giving a probiotic that contains s. boulardii in the 23 strains and have had good luck with this. Her poo had chunks in the soft serve today, so maybe its hardening up. I submitted a poo sample to be tested as well. I think once the rat clears her system she will be fine again.
I agree with you about Metro. i dont like it either. But its just temporary until her poo clears up and then I will stop it. Fortunately I dont believe she has IBD, so this shouldnt be an ongoing problem.
My other cat Oscar is already eating again.
