Post DKA (2x) Millie continues to have nice numbers. Her AMPS BG 298 and +3 123. Millie is a master of choosing my busiest times to go high or low (have family here from out of town and have a BBQ this afternoon). She is already at 123 and I want to try and keep an eye on her so she doesn't go too low later. I am going to test again in a few hours, should I not feed her (she already had breakfast but we tend to free feed throughout the day because she grazes). Want to avoid a possible hypo later in the day. It has been nice to finally see some consistently lower numbers with her. Ideas about how to move forward today are appreciated.

She cleared that bounce quickly. That's good. I would test again at +5. Feeding her is fine throughout the day, especially if you have outside things going on today and you want her to stay in the low blues and high greens.

Yes, she did which she didn't do before.

OK, I will leave her regular MC food out and check again at +5. I'll be in-and-out and checking on here whenever I can. Also posting how she is doing. This is all new for us so the support is much appreciated.

Wow, that must have scared you. Cats like to demand your attention when you are planning to go somewhere. I'm glad you didn't wait until +6 to test.
I would try to delay going out and make sure she is staying stable in the 60s or 70s without food. That might be another hour. When do you have to leave?
1.75 for your new dose tonight.

OK. I tried before but she wasn't interested. I thought maybe it's the heat so I put on the AC. Will try again.

Folks are actually coming here. My son is visiting with his first child so everyone is coming over to meet her. My husband knows what's going on so he'll fill in for me. Millie just ate some more and is in front of the AC looking very relaxed. Never a dull moment with her!

59 is the same as the 60, so she is stable. I don't think you need to give her honey. You would use honey if she was below 40 or dropping super fast and it was early in the cycle. Hopefully, the cycle is past it's peek, and she will coast for a while. I would test again in 25 minutes.
I just told a neighbor I would take her to the store, so have to leave, but others are watching. Keep posting for help. You did right to post on Health when you did not get responses here. I'll be back in about 45 minutes.

Dyana, she is using an Alpha Trak, in case you didn't notice. But I agree you should hold off on HC or honey unless she drops. You want her to surf.
Thank you, Tricia. I did not notice. I feel bad about that.
Will you be around to check in on her? I told my neighbor I would take her to the swimming pool before the storms come.

Good. You can stop feeding her, and test again in an hour. I'm sure she'll be rising or at least surfing. Enjoy your family and company.

Hi Sylvia! Sorry I wasn't online to get the tag but thank goodness you had help with Yong, Dyana and Tricia. Good catch with the low number. Tricia pointed out that you are using an AT2 meter so whenever she drops below 68 you will swing into action like you did today with HC food for a number in the 30's. Good job!

Congrats on another reduction :cat:
