Hi LL!

Hope everyone is having/had a good day.

Meadow is home!! :-D :-D :-D :-D
I picked her up at 5pm this evening. Took her directly into my bedroom because I wanted her to relax and get used to being back home. She wanted no part of being locked in a room, even with me in it. So after our snugglefest was finished, I let her out. She had a ball exploring everything. I have furniture moved all over the house due to the painter being here all week, so I think Meadow thought it was the cats meow to have a loveseat to lay on in the kitchen. She jumped from one thing to another and would stop and meow if I got out of sight. Once she saw me, she continued her adventures. :-D She had steak for dinner and gobbled it down. She ate a bit more food at shot time and produced a lovely 172 PMPS for me. :) The internist was quite satisfied with her bg's while in the hospital conidering all her issues. I updated the spreadsheet to reflect the bg's taken there with the AlphaTrak meter. We're going back on Flovent and weaning off the pred too. He said that often a cat will develop a resistence to the Flovent and will need to come off for a while and go on pred, but then go back on the Flovent and off the pred. So hopefully we can get her off the pred and control her asthma with inhaled again. I am just so happy to have my girl home with me again. Maybe I will sleep tonight. As exhausted as I have been with all the physical labor, I have not been able to sleep without her head on my face during the night.

YAY!!!!!!!!! Welcome back home Meadow!!!

And, for all of us, please find the vet who suggested you were going to have to make a "decision" about Meadow due to her angry, red pancreas. When you find him, please slap him upside the head. Stoooopid vet. I hope he can hear the raspberries I'm giving (and gave the other night).

The only thing to maybe think about is whether there were any early signs of the p'titis that you overlooked as just being an off day. The quicker you can treat an episode, the easier it will be on Meadow, you, and your pocketbook. This is a post that Jojo put together on pancreatitis that you might want to print out.

I second and third Sienne's suggestion about thinking carefully about the signs that a p-itis attack might be coming soon to a theatre near you.

You might try staving off the attack with extra fluids and some pepcid.

I'm so so glad she's home and feeling feisty!!

welcome home, Meadow!

How fun that mom threw you a party for your homecoming, with a steak dinner and a couch in the kitchen. You're a lucky kitty. ;-)

So happy to hear she's home! And lol at her enjoying the furniture being rearranged. Johnny loves exploring "new" stuff too...we call him Captain Newfield when he's being an investigator.

Enjoy your night with your girl!

   ! I'm so happy for you. Glad Meadow is doing well.

Take Care,
Sandy & Dottie

I am so very, very happy for you - welcome home Meadow. And I totally agree with Sienne's sentiments about the vet. Shame on him or her.
