Nice job clearing that little spike, Cobb! This is our first blue AMPS with me at work all day. I left a little extra food.

I'm wondering what everyone's experience with the Young Again no-carb food is. Part of me does not want Cobb to go back to kibble because I'm not sure I could convince him to eat the wet food otherwise, but at the same time, I know he's probably gobbled down the rest of the food I left him already already. The timed feeder is okay, but he refused to eat from it when we first got it for a week or two. So I opened the lid and fed him fresh when the timer turned the container - hoping to convince him that when the container turns it is fresh food, not food that's been left out. I haven't tried the foodsicle just yet. That may be my next step. But if that doesn't work, I'll need to figure something out so I can leave him some food in the feeder that he will eat. He's so picky...

Funny story. I pass a vet every morning on my way to work. This morning on their marquee they have "Dogs have owners. Cats have staff." I'm pretty sure I've seen that before, but it certainly made me chuckle. Cobb is incredibly demanding. And I get no pay in return!! Love, I guess I get love -- when he's feeling up to it, of course.

Hope everyone has a great week. Healing vines to all who need them!

Re: 7/21 Cobb AMPS 187 - Young Again???

There have been a handful of people who have used the Young Again Zero Carb (YAZC) and had success. I can't think who it was right off the top of my head but there's at least one cat that went OTJ eating YAZC.

Re: 7/21 Cobb AMPS 187 +5.5 126 - Young Again???

i'd try to make the canned food work. just seems like there are a lot of reasons that canned food is better than dry, not just because of the carbs. Dr. Lisa talks about it quite a bit on the http://www.catinfo.org site.

i definitely feel like staff. unpaid staff, of course.

   WOOOOOOOOTTTTT!!!

Julie, that is the plan. To make the wet food work for us. Just something I was thinking about as I see these nice numbers from Cobb. I want him under 100, but I also want him to be safe! So...we may try the foodsicle this weekend. I'm going to see if I can find a silicone cupcake pan at the grocery store this weekend so I can freeze it in that and then throw them in a ziploc bag to keep.

Anyway, my human baby is still sick. My sister told me I was "baptized" into parenthood this weekend after Matty threw up on me. Apparently he didn't think I had enough because he did it again tonight. It may be a long night!! Putting on some ~O) !

oh yuck. there is little worse than having someone barf on you. even the child that you love!

you can use regular muffin pans too. you might need to dip the pan in a 9x13 pan of hot water for just 30 seconds to get the muffin-cat-sickles to release. back in the days of jello, that's how people got jello out of molds. i remember my mom doing that and assume it would work on the catsickles too.

Cobb's numbers are looking mighty fine. I know that he is/was a high dose kitty. I can't read his SS because the page doesn't open for me. How much insulin is he getting now, and what kind?

Sorry about the pukefest and hope your house is feeling better soon.

Hey Tina, Cobb is currently getting roughly 31 units of Lantus, twice a day. I say roughly because it's an eyeballed amount instead of 2 different syringes.

That's my doormat!!!!  Makes me giggle every time I read it! My other doormat says "THIS IS NOT A JOKE - If you every want to see these people again, bring me 5 lbs. of fresh tuna in a plain brown bag. The CAT" :-D

Cobb is looking great today! Hope you've had a wonderful Monday...minus the puke.
