Yesterday's flat pink then slide to the lagoon

Zener is doing fine this morning. I like a blue preshot, below renal threshold but no hesitation in shooting. :-D Appy is ok, he's done a little yard patrol, which included eating grass. I pulled a long strand from this mouth that must have been halfway down his throat. :roll: :lol: He is up on the filing cabinet, helping with his condo but I had to put him up there. His mobility is decreasing but he just keeps on keeping on. We are upping the gabapentin for pain relief from 12.5 mg BID to 18.75 mg BID. The vet prescribed 25 mg BID but we have finally learned to start at about 1/4 or 1/2 of the prescribed dose and work up from there. He will get his anal glands done a week from tomorrow (when our vet is back on duty), that might be part of his issue too.

Nice blue start for Zener today. I hope the increase in the gabapentin helps his mobility.

Ok, Zener...no need to slide any higher....keep it flat! Hopefully the increased gaba and gland expression will help with Z's mobility.

Hmmm, not sure if he really leaped up high on the trampoline or if this is food spike. There were two bowls of food left out for him this morning that we forgot to pick up and they were clean as a whistle, when I found them after his shot. Time will tell... :roll:

@Michelle - the kitty in the picture looks a lot like our guy, but it isn't Zener. I found it on google images. :lol:

Zener can barely move but he still got in a fight with the neighbor cat who came in our yard! :shock: He's got a good sized hole on his forehead. The vet is shaving it and cleaning it up. Zener is quite pleased with himself.

ETA: We think the gabapentin increase has helped.

OH NO!!!! Zener...you bad a$$!!!! :-D Sorry, I guess I shouldn't be condoning that kind of behavior, but good for him! Hope his wounds are nothing serious and heal quickly. Scritches for the tough guy!
 
Tons of healing vines for the feisty guy! When Neko was on 50mg gabapentin SID, vetty said there is quite a range and it could still go quite a bit higher. I agree on the start low, go slow approach though. Glad the increase seems to be helping - and he's not feeling the possible side effect of drowsiness.

Thanks for the vines, I made my stretch goal - not last. :lol: :lol: Para rower event was cool, I think they got the loudest cheers of all. The guy who could move his back won the race, while those who could only use arms came later. They still did a good job moving the boats.
 
Zener! You are such a good guard cat, but please be more careful! Your beans don't like having to take you to the vet!

I hope you gave as good as you got! Heal fast. A nice dip in the lagoon will soothe your wounds (but don't look for me there: I got a fur shot this morning!)
