7/1 Recap:
AMPS 98:D +7 134 +9.5 104
PMPS 131 +5 180

Neko is purring happily on her memory foam bed. Her trend seems to be inside in the cool of the morning, then out to the solarium as soon as it heats up. Crazy cat! I must say, she's a lot happier with this relentless sun than I am.

The other nasty side effect of all this sun, we have ants in the kitchen. Now I have to try to feed the furkids away from where the ants are hanging out. Seems as soon as I clean up some of them, more appear. It's just the little ants, but very annoying. I think I know what I'm doing today.

If they are those little sugar ants, yes they are annoying as they seem attracted to moisture and it's usually during the hotter part of summer.:banghead::banghead: Hope you find a way to get rid of them.

Pretty blootiful start for Miss Neko today- hope you are all staying cool, there's been no break in the hot spell down here.

Ugh, I HATE ants in the house!! My exterminator told me to use Windex all around the area where they are coming in. It's slippery and they can't get a grip, so they leave. That stuff is good for everything (if you haven't seen My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding, you need to!). Good luck getting rid of them!

Yesterday looked good, except for that jump at PM+5, and today is starting out well for Miss Neko. Perhaps another dip in the lagoon?

Sorry about the ants. We use tumeric to line the door ledge leading to the outside cattery at work. Keeps the little ants from marching into the cat room. The little buggers won't cross the line.

Oh, and hey, Neko. More green. Please.

I like diatomaceous earth to kill ants.... it won't hurt kitties....
every year I have them move into one of my potted plants....( a sunny spot) and I just dump d.e. in it and it works.
Neko's soaring in her hot air balloon.

we had a good rain... I tho't of you and wished I could share.

Got the lingering knot from her pantaloon! :) I am happy, Neko - not so much.

Carla, Ruth, Tricia, Marilyn, Rhiannon - could be 3rd cycle bounce from numbers a couple nights ago. Who knows - it just is. Good thing I didn't test any earlier in the cycle. I started on Project Ant with a vinegar/water solution wipe down. That seems to have done the trick for now. Parts of my kitchen are a lot cleaner. I also laid a path of diatomaceous earth along the base of the solarium on the deck, and topped it off with some Windex above the DE. DH found out where the ants are coming up onto the deck, and we left a present of honey/borax for them - it seems to have been well received. I'll keep the tumeric in mind as a backup - we have lots, buy it in bulk for when DH is on an Indian food cooking binge.
@rhiannon and shadow - please share that rain. I was talking to someone today who said long range forecast showed 3 more weeks of this stuff.

Sounds like you covered all bases to get rid of the ants. I hope you enjoyed your holiday. Come on back down Neko.

Hope your ant repellent works, nothing worse than those little blighters getting in the house. We seem to have a nest round an old garden pot but as long as they stay outside, they are safe.
Indian food, love it, one of the things I miss most from the UK. The French have no idea how to cook it but luckily we can get the spices and make our own curries.
Neko sounds content but a bit lower would be good.
