7/2 Mo - My heart is happy :D (with photos)

He came home from the hospital yesterday

My heart is sooo full. He's doing so well, he has his wonderful appetite back. His poos no longer smell awful so now we know that's another sign that something isn't quite right in his tummy and could be related to the pancreatitis. He's loving the bupe and the gaba. He's relaxing and whenever I go to tickle him, I get some purrs! That's a massive change since he stopped purring last week. I'm just so so happy right now. He even came into bed for cuddles last night! I think it was brief (I was half asleep) but the fact he wanted cuddles on his first night home made me soooo happy.

At the moment whenever he's asking for food, I'm giving him half a tin of fancy feast. He's not keen on Ziwipeak at the moment so I will give the boy what he wants. He got home yesterday at around 5.30 and throughout the evening he got through 2 cans of FF. He clearly needs it!

Thank you everyone for your support through this. In the future, I'm going to need guidance from those familiar with Chronic Pancreatitis to help me with when I should give him medications if I think he's not feeling well. I want to do everything I possibly can to avoid him having to go back to the hospital and you've all made me see it's possible to avoid :) Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for giving us hope :bighug:

I am here for you. One thing I can tell you is don’t make more than one change at a time so you know what is helping him. You want to wait several days before removing anything g and then taper the removal. It sound# like your vet will be supportive in that way. M so happy to read this condo. :bighug:
That's great advice, thank you :)

Here is my boy doing a relax :joyful::joyful::joyful:

I’m so glad he’s feeling bettter....I love those photos.

Have you decided whether you are going to start testing and whether you want to get the dose sorted out?
We will start testing him again tomorrow. He's still on 3 units right now and at the moment, we are just focusing on getting his strength back up. I think while he is on gaba and bupe, testing might be a lot easier and he will be a lot more chillllllll. I'm still expecting a call from the specialist on Tuesday so I'm going to have a good discussion with her about the gigantic reduction. It is what caused him to have ketones in his system and I'm still really mad about it. Her plan will have to go out the window given his pancreatitis.

It's great to see Mo so relaxed. :) Neko liked that leg up the wall move too.

Are you able to get some ketones tests in? If so, just mark the results on the spreadsheet, or we'll keep asking. ;)

Any progress on the Levemir?
I'm not home for the rest of the day so it's up to Tim to get it done at the moment. He's very good at getting distracted by the playstation instead of having hawk eyes on Mo. I'll nag him a little bit to make sure he gets a ketone test done :)

No progress on Levemir. No one wants to go against Prue's "demands". I have a call with Prue on Tuesday, so I'll discuss it with her then.

Home from work now. It doesn't look like Tim managed to get a ketone test done today. I'm home tomorrow so I will stalk Mo then :P

I think he's feeling the soreness in his belly tonight. I wasn't getting any purrs when I was giving him kisses (he may have been sleeping though...) and he reacted when I touched it. I hope he's not too sore.

I did notice Tim forgot to give Mo his supper so I have given him half a can of FF and he's happily gobbling that up. I'm so happy his appetite is back. Now time for me to have a snack and go to bed.

Katy, so happy for you and Mo. He looks very happy to be home. You have all of us out here in Feline Diabetes land sending healing hugs for Mo.

He's so beautiful! I thought Grem was weird with the foot tested up high but it seems it's more common than I thought! I'm soooooo very glad Mo is home and eating and snuggling!
