In fact the reason why I'm so worried about those high numbers is because Dumdum was DKA when he has used Lantus after half year.
From that time, my vet seems to use more dose to make sure his BG is always stay at low numbers, and now I'm quite sure when he every time get bounced, he'll need more dose to cleared the bounce.
Just...I know change the guide line is not safe, but now I have to face a fact that Dumdum's BG reaction to Lantus is not as well as other cats, and it's also different from most cats' here.
I read FDMB every day, and it's not so easy to see a cat's preshot numbers are always over 400 like Dumdum, or nadirs are usually over 250. Most cats' numbers get lower and flat after using Lantus about 1-3months.
Dumdum has used Lantus for more than 2 years. I notice that and this situation makes me feel frustrated.
These little hairballs have much shorter life than us, I don't want keep him staying at a circumstances that is harm to his body for so long.
I have some choice now, one is use Lantus as well, but make some change to deal with his numbers. Or the other, change different kind of insulin to try if it will make his numbers better.
I'm not sure what to do next, but I've found a vet that is famous for dealing with diabetes cats in Taiwan. I make appointment with her tomorrow afternoon, and hope she can give me more advise, so that I can be sure what to do next.
