Not much to report today. Daphne seems to be extra hungry these days, but I guess thats because of her lower numbers and also, I think she noticed I cut back on the amount of food, thought I could sneak that by her, but I think she figured out how to count calories and/or count the amount of snacks she's getting. :lol: Or she read her condo, as we all know they do. :lol: I've had to give extra snacks of about .4oz for a few nights, or extra one during the day. I think we are up to about 10 mini meals a day now. She lost .2oz in 15 days.

Sending healing vines to all the kitties and beans who need them today.

Nice numbers for Daphne today! I'm also trying more mini meals for Mags, and he's not liking it. Hope you're feeling better today.

Ann, do you think they dont' like it because they don't see there dish with food in it. When Daphne was on hard food, there was always food out, and she would only take a piece or so, and walk away, and with the wet food, I still gave her like a half can (of 5.5oz), and she left a lot of it and walked back to it over about 3 hours. Now, she has less in the plate and finishes it, but really, its about the same amount in the end because she still only eats a small amount at a time either way… but she acts like she is being punished, the look on her little face is not happy, kinda like this :cry: , you know that look, I'm sure they all have "that look" :lol: I know Daphne has been spoiled, (not from me, but from her first bean, :lol: really), she was with her for the first 5 years of her life.

Anyway, I wonder if its all about these small meals?? I find it very interesting. I know after "you know what" I still can't say it, but they are supposed to have frequent small meals. Also wonder if anyone know how many would be normal. I wonder if my 9 or more meals is too crazy! I know its driving me crazy! :roll: :lol:

Hi Barb, sometimes I lose track of how many mini meals I give Maggie! :-D Sometimes she just licks the juice from it, so then I take it away and give her fresh. It could be when they had dry, it was available all the time whereas the wet we can't leave all day and have them like it. I know those faces all too well. :lol: Daphne's numbers seem great the way you're feeding her. Maggie free feeds overnight which works out great for me, as she will eat when low. I've been trying to leave less at night to see if it will bring down her pre-shot number.

Racci still doesn't finish her plate most of the time! :lol: I think she has a problem with empty plates.

We do about 5 ish meals. I give Munch about 2.3 oz at amps, the last two-ish weeks she has gone to only eating about half, then I give her the rest at +1, more at +2, and then follow her lead. Usually small (tsp or two) around +4 and +6, and maybe +8. ECID, though. It took Munch quiet a while to get use to not having food available all the time when we went from dry to the wet last year.

Daphne's numbers are looking great, you're doing an awesome job!

Look at those GREAT Numbers today Miss Daphne!! Gorgeous!
What ever you are doing, she is doing great--How about giving Daphne a little cooked plain chicken or maybe the freeze dried for a little snack? Could that work for her to not feel so deprived?
I give Moonie a tablespoon or 2 of cooked chicken shredded, so it seems like a lot, at lunchtime when I am eating..

Wow - awesome numbers!!

They are smart - she's probably counting her meals AND reading your condos! Whatever you're doing is obviously working :-D :-D

I agree with the others: whatever you're doing, Daphne is having great numbers. Don't mess with success!!

I hope that the weather cools off in your area soon. We've been hearing on the radio how awful it is down there.

Thanks everyone. My sciatica is bad, so I won't be on here to long, but I wanted to get back to this discussion… I'm just concerned that I'm making Daphne depressed if she doesn't get the food she wants. I know I'm not starving her, she's 15 lbs, and gets about 5 oz. of food in total per day, (maybe an extra .2oz sometimes) and I think I only dropped her down about .5, maybe .10 oz. I think its just that plate thing. I go by oz. and not calories because I, (well, I hate to admit this, but I get too confused, I'm not so good with math), but I do use the digital scale and weigh her food now. Ever since I started to do that, it helped a lot to know how much she is getting… Roni, I did try the chicken, and the chicken treats and both brought her BG up. So no more of that… for now, I think I have to stick with the EVO, and maybe when she settles in a bit, we can experiment more, you know like when/if she … (you know what) :lol:

I need to lay down for a bit and I'll come back on maybe later… Thanks for visiting our condo, Daphne will read it now. :lol: Too bad I can't teach her to type! :lol:

Daphne is looking lovely as always. I'm sure the small meals are a contributing factor, just given the timing of the numbers and the change in her feeding schedule.

Yep, I am WAY too familiar with those expressions...I get it all the time from all 6 of them. I wonder if they KNOW we're softies and they're putting on a big act?? I know it's so hard to resist.

I hope that sciatica eases up soon!!!

Yes, this diet is probably harder on me then her. I don't know what I would do with 6 little faces staring up at me. :lol: I forget what it was like when we had 4 kitties at one time. I don't think they had me trained as well as Daphne does. :lol:
 
Wow....I'm loving those PSs!!!!! So exciting!!!!!

You are just like my Mike. He knows how much Gracie can have but nooooooooo.....she gets up on the counter top with that adorable face and big, round brown eyes and .......he feeds her :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
When Zener was eating dry food, he would let us know when he could see the bottom of the bowl. He wouldn't eat anything, just didn't like to see the bottom. :lol: :lol: Daphne, you are looking smashing! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
