I am using an Alpha Trak and one thing it notes is a lower benchmark for reductions - on a human glucometer, the low mark is 2.8mmol/l or about 50, and the AT table uses a low of 4.5mmol/l, or about 80.

this suggests a discrepancy of 1.8mmol/l im meters, so that 2.5mmol/L would be more like 0.7 or about a 13.

Looks like he is definitely needed a reduction after having been ramping up his does again due to another pancreatitis flare. He is acting ok and I just fed him some canned FF Chicken and a few little bits of dry. Going to test again in 1/2hr. (my SS is updated)

Re: +7 = 25mmol/L (45 )

He has definitely earned himself a reduction :-D

Yes human meters read lower than the Alphatrak. About 30 pts lower so normal for a cat on a human meters is 40-120 on the Alphatrak normal is 70-150

YAY for the reduction!! :thumbup

I don't even try to figure out all the comparisons, just go by the human meter and reduce at 50. :-D My brain has turned to mush with age, so I keep it simple. :-D

This whole business of feline diabetes is enough of a braintwister, but its been especially challenging for me because of this ongoing pancreatitis, which messes with measuring his dosage/regulation. Looks like this last spell is getting better.
