Sophie and Polly had a massive cat chase/growling/smackdown at 2am last night which was why I was up and able to get a +8 (2am!). silly kitties.

Rupert BEBT this morning... zooming about making burbling noises and making everything in the house 'his'. Pink to start... overall numbers beginning to come down but think I need to up the dose this evening since he's seen no greens since my return and this is seventh cycle at the old dose. grrr.

Hi guys .. oh .. you guys didn't know everything in your house already was his? :lol: Mocha owns the couch, the recliner, the bathroom, our bathtub, our bed, the dining room table, etc. etc. etc.! Good luck with the new dose tonight .. have a great day!

hm, my threats don't seem to be working. tonight he moves up to 2.5u methinks. Flat pink day so far. course.. if he reads this he'll throw something silly for his PMPS and confuse me again!

Wendy, it truly IS glorious outside. finally!.... too bad I have to work today!. Hubby took the day off and is off out sailing, fabulous day for him.

damn this is proving to be a really awful year. All blood tests suggest that Wilf might have lymphosarcoma or something similarly drastic going on. No clue how long he's had it, no clue how long he's got. nothing we can do differently other than up his protein levels and immune support in his diet and hope that he manages for a while longer. I've had him for 21 years, since the minute he took his first breath in my arms. He's a wicked character but well loved and the last foal out of his wonderful mother.... whilst we know none of them live forever, we expected him to live at least till 31, like his mom... and to be a pain in the ass that long too! vet says he could last a year, less... maybe more.. really no way of knowing. Right now he's 'feeling' fine, no pain etc... just losing weight and not looking good. hopefully my mix of chinese/natural herbs etc. will help him. dammit. Hubby doesn't know yet, guess I'll have to let him know tonight.... jeesh... this is the only truly downside of having animals instead of kids..... :sad: :cry:

Oh Pip, I'm so sorry to hear the news about Wilf. And it wasn't that long since your previous horsie. Flax seed oil/with cottage cheese or yoghurt is supposed to help dogs, any chance it could help horses too? I've also heard of the chinese mushrooms helping.

Pip, I'm so sorry about the awful vet report on Wilf. I don't envy you, having to tell your hubby, especially while he's still grieving his own beloved horse.. :YMHUG:

I guess you're not impressed, that Rupert is nice and flat? :roll:

Pip....I agree that you should probably take him up tonight. He's just toying with a wee bit of blue.

thanx for the support everyone, it means a lot. Hopefully the diagnosis is wrong, he's always been a bit of a medical mystery... upping the protein in his diet, upping his pergolide (thyroid meds) etc. is all we can do. He seems fine of course, looks a little rough but still ornery enough that I had to put the sprinkler on beside the apple tree this afternoon to prevent him from savaging it! doh. Haven't told hubby yet... hoping to see some improvement in Wilf first and also may wait till after the show next week , so he won't worry whilst we are away... not like there really is anything we can do about it.

Rupert, upped the dose to 2.5 tonight, I have my lesson so hopefully he'll be okay with that, will be home by 8:30 (+2.5). He seems BEBT none the less, hopefully we can get to some decent numbers again soon.

rb_icon Oh, Pip, I'm so sad to hear about Wilf. I hope you loving care proves the vet wron and you have much more time with him! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: I hope DH take the news well, at least he had a carefree day out on the water. It is an awful down side, but it is part of life and we couldn't stay sane without the joy they bring into our lives.

Be good tonight Rupert. You've heard the doosecrease threat.
