7/19 Leo AMPS 398, +5 369 SRT DONE! :)

Day 3 @ CSU

My boy is finished his treatment!! Leo took a long time to wake up today from anesthesia, Dr. Timian said to let him sleep all day if he wants to, that he probably needs the rest after 4 days of anesthesia. Leo got a shot of an anti inflammatory for his cough and irritated throat from being intubated all week, Dr. Timian said the anesthesiologist said Leo's throat looked less inflamed today but i asked for the shot for just in case. We also got some prednisolone for just in case as well, Dr. Timian was a little worried about him being lethargic and sleepy yesterday and also since it will take us days to get home and i don't know where the vet clinics are along the way. I guess i should say pred is used for brain swelling, in case Leo has any from the radiation.

So Leo came home and ate a good lunch and had some good LB action and is now curled up on the bed napping. I kicked out my sister and niece and told them to get out and do something instead of just sitting around sleeping in the hotel room Lu and i went to the Horsetooth Reservoir this morning and did the tourist thing, we took a lot of pictures. Lu asked Dr. Timian if she would like to join us for supper tonight and she agreed so supper with the acrocat doctor tonight!

I think i'll join Leo in a nap, will check in later.

Yay, Leo! Yay, Tracy! What a relief to have that done. Safe travels home and paws crossed for the best possible outcome for your sweet boy. I know the DGPs will be anxious to see him. Hugs!

I'm glad Leo didn't lose his appetite and all systems are functioning normally -- including cat napping. Having had anesthesia recently, I can personally attest to feeling like a truck ran over me.

Enjoy dinner. I hope you and Lu can relax now that the kitties are done with their procedures.

Poor Leo, I can imagine 4 days of being under anaesthesia (and limited AM food) would be hard on any cat. Good luck and safe travels on your way back!

I've been sleepy ALL day - how bout you? Mom said she wasn't gonna deprive me of my food any more, so I think this is where "vacation" begins! Whatever that is! :lol: Mom seems to think that's a good thing! Take lotsa cat naps! See you soon.

so glad for you guys! all done, ready to head home and return to "regular" life. i hope leo doesn't have a headache. i didn't notice anything with punkin for a couple of months, then i emailed dr lunn/timian because he seemed "off." lynn said that it could be an "early/delayed" response, but not to give him pred at that point. hopefully, leo will just sail through the rest of it.

Sorry I missed you yesterday, I'm so glad that leo is don w/ the SRT and not much the worse for wear. At least nothing some serious nappin won't take care of. Have a good trip home. What are your final plans?
