Looks like Zener is coming down from his nasty bounce yesterday. Yay! :-D :-D Appy is good this morning. We have been giving him just a couple of crumbs of cypro every morning. It usually takes about an hour to kick in. It sure relieves bean stress! He is sleeping on the filing cabinet, helping with his condo. He says "more petting, less worry". :-D :-D

Thinking of ailing kitties and beans. Sending tons of vines to Jupiter. He's already out of surgery and will be home soon. Vines for Jamie and Dane too. Recovery vines for KT after his dental yesterday. All went well but he had several extractions. Thinking of Kathie. Paws crossed for OTJ trials for Cleo, Scamper and Purrcee. All seem to be enjoying the lagoon.  Happy Fursday, LL!
Liz
ETA: And paws crossed for Willie's OTJ trial!

Re: 7/18 Zener AMPS 220

It's good to see Z-man coming down from his bounce.
And what a sweet helper, overseeing his condo this morning!
(Hey, you forgot to add how handsome I am, mama!)

I hope you all enjoy your day!

Well, well....a blue surf!

We don't typically get a later cycle test unless the Z-man is on a big slide down, but we've been taking a +9 BG test on the days we give fluids. And lo and behold, it sure looks like a blue surf with a tiny paddy paw dabble in the lagoon early in the cycle.

@Josie & Ripley - thanks for the bounce breaking vibes! And for the reminder about how handsome our guy is! ;-)
Hey's Ripley buddy - thanks for reminding my beans of my supreme good looks. They told me how handsome I was the whole time I's was getting my joy juice. - Zener

Nice blue surf for Zener. He's looking good today, as well as looking handsome.

Nice slide for Zener. Is the cypro a prescription? Nice slide today for Zener. I find myself doing the same with a check after fluids. Do you noice much of a drop?
Have a great evening.

Hi Liz and Anne, and Mr. Zener.... You look so handsome in blues and greens. Hooray for a good appy. What a good boy to help out with the condo ;-)

Thank you for thinking of me the last several days/weeks? It has been a rough couple of weeks and I have missed all of you and the kitties...

Hope you all have a wonderful evening, hugs
Kathie

VERY nice day for Zener!!! I hear ya on doing what you need to do to relieve bean stress. We all need a case of Calgon! (am I dating myself with that? "Calgon, take me away!!!)

Re: 7/18 Zener AMPS 220;+2 155;+3.5 98;+4.5 138:+6.5 159;+9

Very nice numbers for Zener today and a good appy too:-D

Nice of him to remind you (and the rest of us) - more petting - less worry! Thanks, I needed that Zener!

Re: 7/18 Zener PMPS 143

Nice, nice numbers Zener! Especially that PMPS! :-D Hope you all are having a wonderful evening. Happy Fursday!

Re: 7/18 Zener PMPS 143

And a slow blue drift at PMPS.
We had a good test/feed/shoot, backyard patrol and a happy crap dash all the way across the yard, in the back door and across the living room! bcatrun_gif

@carla - Zener thinks he is looking good too, and appreciates his LL admirers! ;-)

@Ann & Maggie - I'll post to Maggie's condo too. The cypro is Cyproheptadine and it is a prescription. It comes in 4mg pills and many vets will prescribe too much, writing 1/2 to 1 tablet per day. We cut the pills into 4ths (1mg), then half those (1/8 - 0.5mg), then half again (1/16 - 0.25mg) and sometimes we just give him slivers or crumbs from the cutting process, we call that 1/32 or less than 0.25 mg. That seems to keep him eating more steadily without any of the drowsy, anti-histamine effects. It also clears the body in about 12 hours. Marje advised us about testing BGs before and after fluids to see if there was much effect. We haven't noticed anything significant, at least not yet. With Zener, we never know.

@Kathie - Zener has had a few good cycles strung together on this dose! Thanks so much for checking in on the handsome Mr Z. And you are so welcome for the thoughts. We appreciate how difficult it must be to lose not just one but two fur babies so close together. We hope you are finding comfort in visits to your many friends here in LL. :YMHUG:

@Amy & TrixieCat - BWAHAHAHHA on the Calgon! You can still see those commercials on You Tube!

@Cleo & Jane - Zener is very good about reminding us of the important things. Liz heard him clearly in her mind on New Years say "pet more, worry less". And when we were on our way to the vet several months ago, I heard him in my head say "whatever it is, it will be okay." So, those are our mantras! Hooray for happy appy! :-D

We did fluids again today with no drama and no leakage or fluid fountains! Woo hoo on that! We call it "Zener's Joy Juice".

@+3 74
Could be another PJ party in the making at Zener's house.

Re: 7/18 Zener PMPS 143;+3 74

Hey kitties, party at Zener's house tonight! ~Neko

Sounds like you guys are getting to be pros at the fluids and so glad Zener is feeling good!

Re: 7/18 Zener PMPS 143;+3 74;+4 53

@Wendy & Neko - gosh, didn't we just do this PJ party thing? The fluids sure seem to perk him up, "joy juice". We're only doing it 3x/week and we skipped one this week because he seemed to be doing okay. Yesterday, he was drinking and peeing quite a bit more (could have been his BG values too) and he had a pretty hard and small poo, so we gave fluids today and voila - happy kitty. We go for blood work next month to recheck his kidney values, so we'll see how things are doing in that department.

@Michelle - send your pussy posse on over for the PJ party, and tell Lola to keep a lid on it.

Next test in one hour, jug on, preparing the chocolate peanut butter crackers after this update.
I have tai chi class at 9am so not so perfect timing for a PJ party - crazy cat. dancing_cat

The party is rocking, come one, come all. ~O) @-)

I'm afraid Neko is going to have to miss the party. And she was so looking forward to those honey laced treats.

Up Zener please! You've made your point.   Beans got things to do in the morning.

Re: 7/18 Zener PMPS 143;+3 74;+4 53;~5 43;+5.5 46

Alright already Z-man, you've made your point. Crazy cat. ~O)

@Wendy & Neko - Zener will save some honey laced treats for you, unless he eats the entire bag tonight. The Z-meister must have read his condo and saw the night duty bean has class in the morning, or did Neko have the mobile phone again? Those darn cats are texting each other.

@Courtney & Kismet - thanks for dropping by, it could be a late night. Does Kismet have a curfew? ;-)

Trying to find the right balance to get the numbers up a little but not overcarb the poor guy with honey laced treats. Mr LIver went in the red zone after the last PJ party. The mad scientist is experimenting with a drop of honey added to his regular fuds.

Next test, 45 minutes.
