Good morning Monday! Maggie is starting this morning with a high blue. I'm tempted to go back up to two drops, but before I do, I want to experiment more with food. We're back and forth from Wellness Chicken to FF Chicken Feast, and I have a feeling the FF is keeping Maggie high. I could always try and return to Special Kitty. All the P's are in place with a nice deposit in the sand box. Maggie woke me up at 1:00 am, but I was able to get her back to sleep with some scritching and cuddling. After that wake-up call, I couldn't sleep so was up at 2:00 am! When I went back to make up the bed, I noticed her pole mouse toy was on my bed, so at 1:00 am when she awakened me, I guess she was hinting it was play time! :-| Well, I'm almost sure we're having a nice day today, so I'll get my walk in early.

I just asked about whether playing at night time was normal for cats. Guess it is for Maggie too :lol: I laugh every time you post about her dragging around a mouse on a pole.

Good morning Ann! Sounds like Maggie is her playful self. I love it when she brings the pole toy to bed. :lol: :lol: :lol: I would love to see her dragging that around. How does she get it all the way up there?

:lol: Hi Karrie, I am afraid to tell you it is completely normal for some kitties with the playfulness and talking at night. It might help if I had a buddy for Maggie!

Hi Melissa, I can't believe Maggie jumped onto the bed with the mouse in mouth and dragging the plastic pole. With being a Manx, she's actually not that agile and runs like a bunny rabbit with that stubble of a tail and short legs. I wish I had a laptop with a camera, next one for sure.

Our nights were pretty quiet for a while, Logan being the only "youngster". Then Chloe arrived in June.
Herds of elephants now seem to move into the house after bedtime :lol:

1am playtime? These nocturnal creatures need to learn humans don't function that way.

Maggie sounds like she is one happy kitty, but tell her there is a time and place for all that running around. 2:00 AM is a little too early to be playing fishing pole!

Did Special Kitty seem to work well with Maggie's bg? I am also trying to figure out what kind of food to feed Simon. Wellness seemed to be better than FF but now he doesn't want to eat the Wellness, only FF.

Hi Georgia, yes the Special Kitty was fine with Maggie's numbers. I used the SK Chunky Chicken dinner and the other was SK Super Supper. I know what you mean as now Maggie is balking at the Wellness Chicken, so I ended up opening a can of FF Chicken Feast after her shot to get something into her stomach.

Hi Devon, thanks for stopping by. Yes, I think I have to get her up in the daytime exercising so she will sleep at night.

Hi Christie, I can't seem to get her off the FF line! Are you still feeding the raw diet?

Miss Maggie wanted some play time at 1 in the morning huh? What a crazy kitty.....Leo does that too but normally i just sleep right thru it :lol:

I had a sneaking suspicion that Wellness brought Leo's numbers up more than FF did, maybe ECID when it comes to food too???? Who knows with these kitties right?

Hi Tracy, yes it is strange with the foods and their bg's. The Wellness turkey seemed to cause a rise in Maggie's bg's, but not the Wellness Chicken. I think the FF Chicken Feast keeps her on the high side, but it's the only fuds she will eat at the moment!
 
Ann, right now we're working our way through a couple cases of BG Turkey and Blue Wilderness Duck (1.5% and 2% respectively). Occasionally, he gets 9 lives or Special Kitty as a treat, but honestly I find they aren't that much cheaper for us as with the higher water content, I find that he eats a lot more of it per sitting.

Making the raw food in my old place was a bit much with no dishwasher and not a ton of workspace in the kitchen. I plan on making a new batch of raw this coming weekend and starting the transition back to it. Will be interesting to see how his numbers do on it! Plus, I've been bad about adding fish oil to his food, and his recipe from Dr. Lisa includes it, so I know that will be good for him as well.

Hi guys... another late visit for me... Good luck with the food experiments. It's alwasy such a challenge. I went through a phase of trying different things with Mannie. In the end I ended up back with what we started with: wellness. he seems to do well on it...

It looks like Maggie has had a decent day - numbers are good, even if they are a higher blue that she normally does... could just be the foods.

have a great night - and I hope that tonight you are not up at 1AM! :shock: I don't know how you do it....
